Utility buses were built during and in the years following WW2 when raw materials were in short supply. It resulted in a variety of unlikely chassis and body builders buses running under the heading of London Transport.
D88 / GYE 78 Daimer with Duple body. New 1945. Out of LT service in 1953 and exported to Ceylon. Spend LT life at AL – Merton.

An einem schönen Sonnigen Tag war ich mit einem Kollege unterwegs im Graubünden am fotografieren gewesen haben neben bei noch bisschen Busspotting gemacht.
Same batch as from my previous posting but in the later all red livery and cream band.
Utility buses were built during and in the years following WW2 when raw materials were in short supply. It resulted in a variety of unlikely chassis and body builders buses running under the heading of London Transport.
D79 / GYE 69 Daimer with Duple body. New 1945. Out of LT service in 1953 then spent about another 9 years service with Trimdon Motor Service, County Durham.. Spend LT life and AL – Merton.

De Citaro's in Rotterdam rijden al een tijd rond in Rotterdam en hier komt binnenkort een eind aan, waardoor ik samen met Rio besloot de spits in Rotterdam door te komen. RET 333 is net begonnen aan lijn 76 naar Zuidplein en passeert de twee fotografen in Keizerswaard.
Connexxion 2957 is onderweg op de ringlijn 52-53 en passeert de fotograaf op de Zeedijk in Westkapelle.

ALSA es la encargada de hacer el servicio lanzadera de MSC Cruceros. Servicio que de normal es operado por buses MAN Lion's City CNG, pero que recientemente, la operadora ha traído 2 Mercedes Benz O530 Evobus Citaro II, de Oviedo y de León, en este caso vemos el coche nº 3298 realizando el shuttle bus.

Jongstleden 26 september organiseerde de OVCN een excursie vanuit Rotterdam naar Vlissingen met de 7799 en 2311. Na de passagiers af te hebben gezet bij Scheldeplein en getankt te hebben reden beide bussen leeg naar het station terug om pauze te houden. Hier werd de bus ten hoogte van de Prins Hendrikweg op de foto gezet.

SUPERIMPOSED SURPRISE - remember when you forgot to wind the film forward back in the day?
A random capture of a couple of DMS 'Londoners' seen at night in the depths of Brixton (BN) garage - there is extra interest as the bus on the right was one of a few that were converted to crew operation for Night Bus work and renumbered accordingly.
The Londoner - London's bus of the future in the 1970s! Entering service in 1971, the DMSs eradicated the venerable RTs from the streets of London by the end of the decade. After 2,646 deliveries, swathes of these buses were already being sold off as unsuitable for London streets. DMS 1 did well to last for around 11 years - many of the later build buses lasted a fraction of this time. It went into storage just a few months after I grabbed my night shot, and was later preserved (see Bus History below)
By the late 1970s, the DMSs had already been superseded by the Titans and Metrobuses, not to mention the MD Metro Scanias that came in between.
