The Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world! Located in Dubai

I had great difficulty in capturing this shot as I used my tripod and the only place I could stand it was on top of a litter bin! Amongst thousands of people I had to ensure nobody tumbled my equipment, to make matters worse I captured 5 of these long exposures but during each capture the water fountain display erupted all over the place and the outcome looked like mist all over the image. I carefully timed this shot and im very happy I did!

The Burj Khalifa), known as the Burj Dubai before its inauguration, is a megatall skyscraper in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is the tallest structure in the world, standing at 829.8 m (2,722 ft).

The Y-shaped plan is designed for residential and hotel usage. A buttressed core structural system is used to support the height of the building, and the cladding system is designed to withstand Dubai's summer temperatures. It contains a total of 57 elevators and 8 escalators.

The worlds tallest building, 819 m. Couldn't fit it into one frame, but LR Merge did the job.

Btw, I think Dubai was an excellent place for taking photos. Unfortunately my visit was for work, so I could usually not make it out on town until after the golden hour. Hopefully I can come back as a tourist (but it was terribly expensive..).

From a recent trip to Dubai...shot this through the arch of a shopping mall...loved the interior framing, and the trusty wide angle came in super handy to fit everything in!

Long exposure captured at Jumeirah beach.

I snapped this a couple years ago, but never shared it. If you like this type of style, check out one of my favorite photographers @frenchfred, who is a master of B&W composition.

Shot handheld from iHop Restaurant balcony in Dubai Mall at 16mm. Awesome building but super hard to capture. Any ideas on how to get a better vantage point?

Here is a re-edit of my favorite image from my trip to Dubai in 2013

I had great difficulty in capturing this shot as I used my tripod and the only place I could stand it was on top of a litter bin! So amongst thousands of people I had to compose and ensure that nobody tumbled my equipment, to make matters worse I captured 5 of these long exposures but during each capture the water fountain display erupted all over the place and the outcome looked like mist all over the image.

I carefully timed this shot and just before the display ended I captured this one usable final image!

Measuring 321 meters, it was, until 2007, the tallest building used exclusively as a hotel (now highest is Marriott Marquis also located in Dubai). It is one of the most recognizable hotels in the world. It was designed in 1993 by architect Tom WrightL
