Yanked from the cold, lifeless storage lines at Silvis only a couple months prior, a partnership of matched, clean, consecutive, roots-blown 6-axles--half of Iowa Interstate's fleet of SD38-2s--have taken assignment on a rare Sunday extra Bureau turn job, lensed here shortly after departure from the job's namesake city crossing the job's namesake creek on the beginning steps of their return westbound journey. A diminutive train of 9 cars--a solo buffer car and 8 loaded potash hoppers for set out at Geneseo--will be well in control behind the former Reserve Mining pair guiding them over Route Rock rails across half of the state of Illinois back to Silvis.

For the Macro Monday challenge "Keyhole" (November 16th 2020)

A simple home-made keyhole that opens a bureau made by my grandfather. He made it in his spare time (he was a master joiner) so his daughters would have a place for their school books and a desk to work at, as they studied for their exams. He was unusual for his time in believing in equal educational opportunities for girls as well as boys. Both daughters succeeded in their chosen careers, and my mother continued that belief and offered her daughters the same opportunity for economic freedom through education. I treasure the bureau and all it stands for ;o)

HMM!!

In Navajo, áshįįh łibá, means gray salt, fitting for this area in northwestern New Mexico, washed out of the surrounding grass and scrublands. The phonetic translation, Ah-Shi-Sle-Pah, is the nomenclature Bureau of Land Management uses for this wilderness area north of the Chaco Cultural National Historical Park.

Not too far from the much-photographed Alien Throne formation, this pillar arises from the sandstone floor, reminding me of the story from a different cultural background, in which Lot's wife turns back to look at the Lord's destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah despite being instructed not to and is transformed into a pillar of salt.

Congrats on Explore!
