Getting to the point at some point is not just something to aim for when drawing or doodling. Also very helpful during a conversation. And in life anyway. Even if you don't like to do without the detours – they often show interesting perspectives ;-)

Irgendwann auf den Punkt kommen, nicht nur beim Zeichnen oder Kritzeln anzustreben. Auch bei einem Gespräch ganz hilfreich. Und im Leben sowieso. Auch wenn man auf die Umwege nicht gern verzichtet – zeigen sie doch so oft interessante Perspektiven ;-)

Today I'm rather late with a new photo. It's mainly because I'm currently working on a photo book. I have sifted through so many pictures, edited them and moved them back and forth. In the meantime, I'm satisfied with it and can devote myself to Flickr again :D
Heute bin ich mit nem neuen Foto ziemlich spät dran. Es liegt vor allem daran, dass ich derzeit an einem Fotobuch sitze. Ich habe so viele Bilder gesichtet, nachbearbeitet und hin- und hergeschoben. Mittlerweile bin ich damit zufrieden und kann mich wieder Flickr widmen :D

Sich verlieben. Auch wenn es nicht zusammen passt.

I already fell in love with stones when I was very young. I have always brought stones from all the beaches of my travels (and I will continue to do so in the future) and be so small – which is better in flight luggage ;-). And it was the same with writing and drawing (maybe even earlier?) I once received the finest crayons from my parents as a reward (provided, however, that I would no longer paint with my left hand but with my right) – you wouldn't do these days, neither would my parents). You are supposed to go crazy in your head because it twists everything in your brain. Well, I don't notice anything about that, but maybe I feel like normal, even though I might be a lot more normal otherwise? Or less crazy ;-)

But why don't stones and pencils match? My idea of writing stone with one of my many favourite colours (here a coloured pencil in red) on this beloved (and chosen sweetheart, probably sandstone, I no longer know where it came from) was not so easy to implement – the result is somewhat scrawly ;-) But there was only one attempt at the back and one at the front, erasing was not possible ... So I had to make do with this result – you can read it. Opposites attract each other, but in the future my two loved ones will have to go their separate ways ;-)

In Steine habe ich mich schon verliebt, da war ich noch ganz klein. Ich habe von allen Stränden meiner Reisen immer Steine mitgebracht (und werde es auch in Zukunft so halten) und seien sie auch noch so klein – was sich im Fluggepäck besser macht ;-). Und mit dem Schreiben und Zeichnen ging es mir ebenso (vielleicht sogar noch früher?) Ich habe einmal als Belohnung die allerfeinsten Buntstifte von meinen Eltern bekommen (allerdings unter der Bedingung, dass ich nicht mehr mit der linken Hand, sondern mit der rechten malen würde – würde man heutzutage nicht mehr machen, meine Eltern auch nicht). Da soll man angeblich verrückt von werden im Kopf, weil sich dadurch alles im Gehirn verdreht. Gut, davon merke ich nichts, aber vielleicht empfinde ich mich eben auch so als normal, obwohl ich vielleicht sonst noch viel normaler wäre? Oder weniger verrückt ;-)

Aber warum passen Steine und Stifte so gar nicht zusammen? Meine Idee, mit einer meiner vielen Lieblingsfarben (hier ein Buntstift in Rot) auf diesen heißgeliebten (und auserwählten Liebsten, wahrscheinlich Sandstein, ich weiß nicht mehr, woher er stammt) Stein zu schreiben, war gar nicht so leicht umzusetzen – das Ergebnis ist etwas krakelig geraten ;-) Aber es gab nur jeweils einen Versuch auf der Rück- und Vorderseite, radieren ging nicht ... Also musste ich mit diesem Ergebnis Vorlieb nehmen – man kann es ja lesen. Gegensätze ziehen sich zwar an, aber in Zukunft müssen meine beiden Liebsten wohl getrennte Wege gehen ;-)

According to the current theme, group members were supposed to show tricks one can do with the camera. My favourite one is to make things vanish with a long-exposure capture.
De acuerdo con el tema propuesto, los miembros del grupo teníamos que mostrar algún truco con la cámara. Mi favorito es hacer desaparecer objetos con fotografías de larga exposición.

Zum Jahresende wars, im letzten Jahr, da bin ich mit meiner Tochter nochmal in die Gemäldegalerie. Anschließend ein kleiner Bummel durch die historischen Gassen der Innenstadt, natürlich mit Punsch und allem was dazu gehört. Am "Fürstenzug" dann dieses Bild ...
Via Gitternetz sind die Proportionen auf Papier gebracht. Anschließend wurde nicht etwa "nur ausgemalt", wie das vielleicht viele denken. Ich hab die Stunden wie immer nicht gezählt. Alles muss ausmodelliert werden, Schicht über Schicht, Stunde um Stunde ...
Peoples waren freilich vorhanden, diese hier sind aber reine Fantasie.
Ja, und gestern nun die frohe Botschaft: das Bild gefällt den Amis so gut, dass es im "Colored Pencil Magazin" im Januar erscheinen wird :-)

It's another "Dangle," too, but of course, it wouldn't have crossed my mind to dangle one colourful pencil above another for last week's theme because that's not how it works ;)
I was spoilt for choice this time, which doesn't happen often. In the end, it boiled down to three images (from six), and while we have quite a few pens in the pool for Multicolor, I still picked this one because it is all about the colour, and this image has the most of that.
I did in-camera focus stacking, and the final JPG looked good, so no external Helicon stacking this time. The pencils used for the image are "Koh-i-Noor Hardtmuth Magic" with a nice, colourful marble coating and a multicolor ("Tri-Tone") lead.

Langsam geht der Tag auf dem Abenteuer-Spielplatz
in Raesfeld zu Ende ... Die Kindergartenkinder haben gespielt, geturnt, gelacht und noch andere Dinge gemacht ...
Der Herbst wurde in schönsten Farben aufs Blatt gebracht,
da hat mancher Buntstift laut gelacht ...
Mensch ärgere Dich nicht, das war famos,
man spielte auf dem Tisch, das Brett war so groß ...
