BUNDA CLIFFS (NULLARBOR COASTAL CLIFFS) RUN FOR APROX. 100KM,S ALONG THE GREAT AUSTRALIAN BIGHT IN THE WESTERN PART OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA
One of the stops on our Buggy tour in Natal, Brazil. This is the Ski Bunda! Basically you slide down this big sand dune on a small wooden toboggan, steering with your hands, before splashing into the water at the bottom. It was pretty fun, though the ride up to the top on the home-made chairlift was much more of a rush. This was my girl's second time down as my battery died just before her first turn =)

Apesar das várias denominações vulgares, como lavadeira, cavalinho do diabo, lava-bunda, seu nome mais comum, libélula.
Graças ao fantástico aparelhamento biológico que possui, uma libélula consegue planar, o que é impossível para a maioria dos insetos alados. Enquanto uma abelha vibra suas asas 4 vezes por segundo e muitos mosquitos imprimem até 8 batidas, a libélula bate suas asas 50 vezes por segundo. Em média, elas se mantêm voando por 5 a 6 horas diariamente. O absoluto controle de vôo da "demoiselle" (senhorita, como a libélula é chamada pelos franceses), inspirou o brasileiro Alberto Santos-Dumont na criação de seu modelo mais bem sucedido: o Demoiselle.

Quem tiver dúvidas quanto à qualidade da água de um rio ou lago pode fazer o "teste da libélula", que consiste na simples observação se há libélulas na área. Todo rio ou lago com águas limpas tem libélula. No entanto, a menor alteração físico-química da água ou do ar já será suficiente para expulsá-las, além de impedir que dos ovos saiam novas larvas. Deste modo, a presença do inseto funciona como um excelente bioindicador da qualidade do meio ambiente. A grande ameaça à vida das libélulas é a poluição ambiental. Na água, a poluição provoca mudanças drásticas em suas características físicas, como os sedimentos em suspensão, e químicas, tais como alteração do PH, da condutividade e do nível de oxigênio dissolvido na água. No ar, ocorrem processos semelhantes, incluíndo as mudanças climáticas.

A portrait of my 13-year-old Golden Retriever. His name is Bundás. (His name roughly translates to furry.)
The imposing 80m Bunda Cliffs provide a dramatic landscape that records the separation of Australia and Antarctica which was previously known as Gondwana land. To the left is the great Australia continent, to the right, the Southern Ocean and Antarctica.
Travelling eastbound from WA, we find a turn off to a lookout roughly 60kms east of the WA-SA border crossing. This affords visitors their first views of the amazing sandstone walls of the Bunda Cliffs. These monoliths have long been battered by the Great Southern Ocean and the extreme weather emanating from the Antarctic polar regions.
The "Bight" as the area is known, is the winter resting, breeding, and nursery area for hundreds of whales.
