Bloembollenvelden met tulpen in de achtergrond. Twee nieuwe stoom- en gaseenheden (STEG) met aardgas als brandstof, relatief schoon en met hoog-rendement.
Maxima power plant (formerly Flevocentrale) of Electrabel, on its own artificial island in the IJsselmeer. Two new steam and gas units (CCGT) with natural gas as fuel, relatively clean and high-efficiency (combined cycle units).

Dutch bulbfields
The area around Lisse, Hillegom and Noordwijkerhout is a mecca for lovers of bulb fields. This so-called bulb region is located just behind the dunes and it is wonderful to stay.
Another area in the region where you find many bulb fields is the West Friesland region. The area lies between Hoorn, Enkhuizen and Medemblik.
Crocusses as far as the eye can see. Bulb season is here!

The word tulip, first mentioned in western Europe in or around 1554 and seemingly derived from the "Turkish Letters" of diplomat Ogier Ghiselin de Busbecq, first appeared in English as tulipa or tulipant, entering the language by way of French: tulipe and its obsolete form tulipan or by way of Modern Latin tulīpa, from Ottoman Turkish tülbend ("muslin" or "gauze"), and may be ultimately derived from the Persian: دلبند delband ("Turban"), this name being applied because of a perceived resemblance of the shape of a tulip flower to that of a turban. This may have been due to a translation error in early times, when it was fashionable in the Ottoman Empire to wear tulips on turbans. The translator possibly confused the flower for the turban.
... and we were free to wander about as we wished! The onlookers above, the passengers below -- Antwerp could not have been friendlier to its shippy people. We really enjoyed the atmosphere.
