I'm so depress + angry yesterday, when i realise one of the most essential folder in my computer lost!!! I still can't figure out why, but pretty sure it's been deleted. (by me?! when i'm sick? in my dream???) So i say goodbye to my portfolio, postcard artwork, digital drawing, web materials and and and i can't remember whatz inside now, arrrr! My mood is still recovering, so i want to think optimistically, that it's a good sign to make something new and creatively! here's a cut n paste art i made, can u find out which album the images from?! tell me about it, i'll be happier i guess.
Apart from music, live shows, art and movie, the Swiss Trip really changed my life ever since. 2-0-0-6 is a very special year for me, i start to realise life is short, how can we left all the most important things behind, i can only see endless working and entertainment, typical family + future + retirement planning among the people, i wanna shout to the ordinary life: HEY SUCK YOU! LEAVE ME ALONE!!! coz now i'm so excited and happy to know where i should go, even the place might not exist yet, i believe, it's not a dream anymore til the moment we get there. Thank you my little angel, for giving me the chance to see myself and to feel the massive love around me. It's never too late, don't afraid if i can't see it, come follow your heart like we used to do, dance and fly with me over the rainbow, there's sunshine after the darkness, then we'll still be able to laughing in the rain, let's pray together day by day... Finally i won't surprise if some people don't get what i'm saying, there's too much Kokdamon Dry Talking, wait and you may understand someday before year 2030, if you're still alive, Good Luck, Good Health in the coming 2007 Pig Year.

Morning comes and I'm up on time again
Upon getting up and I'm down on what I got up for
Boring, dumb, and fine
It's been a long time my friend
You haven't changed, neither have I
So why you wanna bring that up
I feel it started at the source
What is it that makes you cry and why?
When you see a documentary and know the outcome
And that it's fucked
You still hope Hitler will blow up
And that Kennedy will duck
I feel it started at the source

(Rolleifex 2.8C Kodak Tri-X 400)
you get the car
I'll get the night off
You'll get the chance to take the world apart and figure out how it works
Don't let me know what you find out

Proposed poster for Built to Spill at The Fillmore.
The "BUILT TO SPILL" type was done with some really strange late 70's PresType version of Franklin Gothic that matched none of my computer font versions (but it fit so well here and was nice to set some type by hand).
13" x 19" 4-color
This is one of the many inanimate objects that I refer to as my baby, along with my soprano ukulele (yes - but not in some lame way; it's for Hawaiian stuff, not hipster stuff. I digress.) and my old point and shoot camera. And my car. But this one is my real baby.
It's a Schwinn Sting-Ray - yellow and red and all original parts. One of my goals in life is to someday get it spruced up. The seat has some nasty gouges in it and the paint is faded in places, but it's got a lot of charm.
Weather in Mountain View was gorgeous gorgeous today and I was cooped up inside at work. I really wanted to go for a bike ride when I got home, but my mountain bike was sporting two flat tires and I live on a hill, so the Sting-Ray was out of the question. I settled for a hike instead and it was just not the same.
So this is the first time that the ATZ came through for me and I couldn't be more stoked about that. The tones in the original are just beautiful. Unfortunately, I misjudged the amount of available light and ended up wiggling while waiting for the shot to pop out. I'll take it, but I wish you could see where it says Schwinn!

Do not attempt to fold the origami Titanic. The horrible truth is I made up all the steps.
Lots of fun overprinting and faux-bad trapping in this poster that was a bit more subtle in the final print due to ink gain, but still turned out well.
The "Built to Spill" type is hand-done and, if I could do it again, I would of increased the size of the halftone screens I used in the 3D shading a bit. With the ink gain on the uncoated paper stock it lost a little of the analog halftone look. That all said, it still printed quite well and I have a great reference for faux-halftone size for future posters.
I went on a date with a girl who had the Kicking Giant t-shirt but thought it stood for "kilogram", which only endeared me more and lead to ice-breaking discussions of whether the hip kids would call The Kilograms "the kilos" or "the grams" for cool-breviaition. We started a band three days after our pizza digested.
...and when she did / she thought of it differently / than she thought she should be thinking."
I like this one. I'm not sure why, but I do.
backwashed thoughts
and you made me talk
no you made me listen
there's a feeling from ada to irene
there's something
there's nothing you haven't seen
tiny tv
on at three
so serene
no place to be alone
so come on over
yeah
let's sit down a little while
some wine
you will find the same things
the same things
the same things
the same things
the same things
by the time you read this
you kicked it in the sun
it was all that you could do
how could you refuse
and you kicked it in the sun
it was all you had to do
and you kicked it in the sun
it was all you had to do
how could you refuse
and you kicked it in the sun
it was wrong and it was rude
and you kicked it in the sun
it was wrong and it was rude
how could you refuse
and you kicked it in the sun
it's alright now I'm getting over getting mine
it's alright now I'm getting over getting mine
he seemed so unashamed of how he operated
corresponds to the facts that you want
despite his expectations
he turned out mediocre
his master plan was so so
we're special in other ways
ways our mothers appreciate
that net does not make me feel safe
all those holes make me nervous
he woke up late that morning
went to the window and saw the sun had stopped its shining
so so
we're special in other ways
ways our mothers appreciate
we're special in other ways
ways our mothers appreciate
we're special
we're special

Using hacksaw blades as a measuring tool when slotting for dropouts. Building at full speed and feeling good. I was just talking to Hilary yesterday about how I’m not entirely motivated right now in the shop (end of summer blues?). So I’ve been doing some mindless sort of tasks that are part of the bike building process until the real inspiration strikes which happened just now. I had finished listening to the latest Built to Spill album and I was not entirely impressed because I live in the past when it comes to music. So I put on Keep It Like a Secret which came out in 1999. The song “The Plan” came on and everything changed. I felt a physical charge come over me. I was immediately transported back in time to when Modus Operandi was released (Transworld Skateboarding video that had this song in it). Marc Johnson’s part is incredible and Ty Evans and Jon Holland’s videography is perfectly in sync with the song. It is so inspiring to hear the intro to that video part and then to see how all their hard work came together in the end. If I was a skateboarder, I’d to be so pumped to skate right now but instead, I’m channeling it to making bikes and it’s working! I’m so psyched right now. #builttospill #starrett #forkblades #modusoperandi #marcjohnson

Dream come true shooting a band I've loved so much and whose music has been there for me over the years. Really great dudes. These two portraits were taken at a really high iso due to almost no light and time. but I really dig the rough, grainy feel though. reminds me of old built to spill tunes
I used to listen to this in the darkroom developing prints of bridges and trees. It seems like 478 years ago!
Totally posting and running.
I am absurdly, head over heels in love with this shot. No clue why. I think I want to use it for my business card. Really. The only thing is that I am super conflicted on the processing.
Sidewalk succulents, where can you go wrong there? (The Lensbaby! That's where! I kid. I think.)
And re: photowalk. The rain. We'll deal with it. Or just drink a lot and shoot a little. Either way. Game is still on.
