Frost buildup on a leaf. Colors changed in photoshop.

This is where the action happens. Well, that's not entirely true. This is where we put all the separate parts of a movie into one big giant ring of film.

Some nice thunderstorm buildup close to home! This reminded me of the time when t-storms were also firing up just to our east many years ago during the summer which resulted in an epic lightning show up in the Sacramento Valley area... Pic taken from San Jose, CA during me & my mom's commute home from work. (Tuesday, September 20, 2022; 5:46 p.m.)

*Weather scenario: Much-needed rain & t-storms had hit central & northern parts of California, bringing relief to places that typically see no precipitation in September… A low pressure area was churning off the coast. It had followed unprecedented heat across much of California at the start of September, when a prolonged historic heatwave had shattered all-time record highs. Summer months are usually dry here & the 1st half of September was no different. The notable exception to the dry conditions was the tropical moisture from the remnants of Hurricane Kay in far-southern parts of the state. In the past few days, the unusual September rainfall has fallen from Santa Barbara up thru the California/Oregon border. This weather pattern that has brought scattered showers & t-storms was expected to hang on for another day or so, with the quasi-stationary low-pressure system off the coast forecast to begin moving inland by Wednesday. After this weather system exits, we should expect a return to hot & dry conditions.

Gravel are the babyteeth of a river's living selfhood.

For a river to deposit buildups locally along its course — vs hoarding up all its stuff and uselessly offering everything to the vast obliviousness of the Ocean Sea — is not a gift that any fool should take for granted. A Beloiter especially!

In downtown Beloit, Wisconsin, on September 1st, 2011, the Rock River as viewed upstream from a bridge on 4th Street (Wisconsin Route 213).

The Rock River flows to the Mississippi River.

This section of the Rock River was formerly covered by an elevated parking deck, the structural supports of which might possibly have influenced the emergence and location of sandbars in the river. It is impossible to know!!

Survived another of those "almost the end of the world" events. Yesterday's earthshaking digital TV changeover, that is.

I swear, the buildup for that event was as big, as long and as loud as (do you remember?) for Y2K. And I wonder, if the Second Coming was announced a year or two in advance, could the TV types have gone any farther overboard? If so, it's hard to imagine.

So, what a moment of high drama it was, what bated breath in my lungs as I prepared to turn on the old B&W set out in the workshop -- where there's no cable hookup and no converter box or other such paraphernalia. I patiently flipped through the channels, using both the UHF and VHF dials (you kids don't know what that's all about, do you?). When just about ready to conclude that the transition was in fact total ... no, wait! Look here, it's "3ABN" coming through, sort of loud and sort of clear.

It's "Kids Time," with Miss Brenda, and it's really wholesome -- even goody-goody -- Christian programming. So, it seems I will still be able to have something on The Tube while tinkering in the workshop. And one type of daytime TV is about as good or bad as another.

But I wonder, are the good folks at 3ABN defying the US government decree, or what? If so, is that a good example to set for their impressionable young audience?

By the way, I did have to look up "3ABN" to see if it stands for something and yes, it does: Three Angels Broadcasting Network. (But why only three??)

As the last car on the train it is hardly a surprise that snow is building up on the end of this tank car.

I found a fork almost identical - I spent 3 hours freeing the post and bottom bracket and 1 hour peeling the scratched up stickers off. The one on the head tube luckily has very minor damage.

The infection can cause a buildup of fluid, making it difficult for the eardrum and the ossicular chain to work together to move sounds to the auditory nerve. Middle ear infections are a common occurrence in childhood that can cause temporary hearing loss. For more visit there bit.ly/2BITHcb";

My favourite of the small buildups of fluffsome snowfall is the one atop the letter v.

The corp "Thrivent Financial" sometimes refers to itself as "Thrivent Financial For Lutherans," depending on circumstance/audience. The corp is the corporate descendant of an entity originally known as "Fervent Religiosity For Lutherans."
