This is a photograph from the annual BHAA Government Services/Social Protection Group's 5 Mile Road Race took place on Tuesday 27th May 2013 at 20:00 in Dunboyne, Co. Meath, Ireland. The course is a fast flat course which begins on the Dunboyne-Maynooth Road between the two entrances to Dunboyne Castle Estate. The race then proceeds in an anti-clockwise direction back to the Dunboyne Athletic Club on the Rooske Road in Dunboyne. The race reaches higher standards with every passing year. Paul Gorey and his team of volunteers must be given great credit for putting on such a wonderful race event. Thanks are also extended to Dunboyne Athletic Club, the BHAA, and the local community who all make this possible.

Participants: There were approximately 500 participants .
Weather: A bright sunny evening with little breeze
Course: This course is fully left handed with very little in the way of inclines. Good road surface. These are nice narrow country roads with shelter provided by mature hedgerows. This year the race finished with 3/4 of a lap of the Dunboyne AC track.
Refreshments: Lots and lots as is the tradition with BHAA Events - served outside the scouts hall at the track.

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. Hot springs are sites where groundwater emerges at the surface and the water is hotter than the human body. In many cases, hot spring water is boiling hot, or close to it. At Yellowstone in Wyoming, most hot spring water precipitates opal (hydrous silica, SiO2·nH2O), resulting in buildups of geyserite, a chemical sedimentary rock. Some Yellowstone hot springs precipitate calcium carbonate (CaCO3). Seen here is a hot spring in Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas. The algae-covered rocky buildup is calcium carbonate. Chemical sedimentary rocks of calcareous composition formed by hot spring water include "calcareous tufa" and "travertine". I'm not entirely convinced there is a difference - the terms are often used interchangeably. My understanding is that "calcareous tufa" (a horrible term, by the way) is a porous, friable precursor to travertine. Travertine also forms in caves (calcareous speleothem) and at some cold springs.
Supposedly, the original tufa/travertine deposits here have long since been destroyed and the layout of hot springs and the drainage patterns are all artificial. The modification took place to accommodate the need to pipe hot water to nearby bathhouses in early days. Tufa/travertine deposits now at the site are probably all secondary.

Thermal Cascade was designed to recreate the natural scene of hot spring water cascading down tufa cliffs. In cool weather the vapor is reminiscent of the clouds that once billowed from open springs along the lower slope.

Tufa Terraces
Before the bathhouse era, this lower side of the mountain was covered with massive terraces of tufa (travertine). Tufa is mostly calcium carbonate, which precipitates out as the spring water cools. In 1834 a British geologist observed that “The travertine . . . sometimes presents abrupt vertical faces of from 15 to 25 feet high.” Tufa formations are still visible along this trail.
After a short ascent past tufa outcroppings and the Thermal Cascade, Tufa Terrace Trail crosses the Grand Promenade. From there you can reach the Peak Trail and continue up Hot Springs Mountain.

Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

This is a photograph from the annual BHAA Government Services/Social Protection Group's 5 Mile Road Race took place on Tuesday 27th May 2013 at 20:00 in Dunboyne, Co. Meath, Ireland. The course is a fast flat course which begins on the Dunboyne-Maynooth Road between the two entrances to Dunboyne Castle Estate. The race then proceeds in an anti-clockwise direction back to the Dunboyne Athletic Club on the Rooske Road in Dunboyne. The race reaches higher standards with every passing year. Paul Gorey and his team of volunteers must be given great credit for putting on such a wonderful race event. Thanks are also extended to Dunboyne Athletic Club, the BHAA, and the local community who all make this possible.

The first buildup after I bought the frame used, circa 2000. That 150mm stem was way too long, and quickly got swapped for a 125.
River Dargle Flood Defence Scheme.
These images were taken during the last week of July 2013, tracking the on-going river bank alterations. The prolonged dry weather is now apparent in the soil surface. We would all experience the effects of, in Irish terms, a prolonged 'heatwave'. Activity in this Slang area has been drastically curtailed in recent months. What work being carried on seemed to involve endless shifting, and 'turning' of top spoil. Despite the prolonged dry period, there is a slow, but constant, seepage of water from the upper banks, gathering along the lower riverbank shelf. One has got to question the impact of such seepage on the integrity of the recently-constructed upper banks, especially the exposed slopes. Some local activity now in recycling the large stones, gathered in cairns, down to the riverbed, with the apparent intention of influencing/changing the flow patterns, and thus preventing untoward debris buildup.
To paraphrase: 'Man proposes, but Nature disposes'.
RAF Thorpe Abbotts is a former Royal Air Force station located 4 miles east of Diss, Norfolk. The station was built for the RAF use but handed over to the United States Army Air Forces in 1943 and upgraded for heavy bomber squadrons.
RAF Thorpe Abbotts was built during 1942 and early 1943 for the Royal Air Force (RAF) as a satellite airfield for RAF Horham but the rapid buildup of the Eighth Air Force resulted in both airfields being handed over to the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF). The thirty-six hardstandings originally planned were increased to fifty. Two T-2 hangars were erected, one on the east side of the flying field and one on the south side adjacent to the technical site. This and several of the domestic sites were in woodland stretching south and bordering the A143 Diss to Harleston road.
Thorpe Abbotts was given USAAF designation Station 139, (TA).
The 100th Bombardment Group (Heavy) arrived at RAF Thorpe Abbotts on 9th June 1943, from Kearney AAF Nebraska. The 100th was assigned to the 13th Combat Bombardment Wing, and the group tail code was a ''Square-D''. Its operational squadrons were:
▪︎349th Bombardment Squadron (XR)
▪︎350th Bombardment Squadron (LN)
▪︎351st Bombardment Squadron (EP)
▪︎418th Bombardment Squadron (LD)
The group flew the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress as part of the Eighth Air Force's strategic bombing campaign. In combat, the 100th operated chiefly as a strategic bombardment organization until the war ended. The group gained the nickname ''The Bloody Hundredth'' due to its heavy losses during eight missions to Germany when the group experienced several instances where it lost a dozen or more aircraft on a single mission, whereas most units suffered losses in consistent small amounts.
From June 1943 to January 1944, as part of the Combined Bomber Offensive the 100th Bomb Group concentrated its efforts against airfields in France and naval facilities and industries in France and Germany. The 100th BG received a Distinguished Unit Citation for seriously disrupting German fighter plane production with an attack on an aircraft factory at Regensburg as part of the Schweinfurt–Regensburg mission on 17th August 1943.
On 10th October 1943, the bomb raid that the 100th BG made on Münster, ended up with the only surviving 100th BG B-17 that went out on the raid, the ''Royal Flush'' (s/n 42-6087) commanded that day by Robert Rosenthal and flown by his regular crew, returning safely on just two working engines and both waist gunners seriously wounded, to RAF Thorpe Abbotts.
''Masters of the Air'' is a 2024 American war drama miniseries created by John Shiban and John Orloff for Apple TV+. It is based on the 2007 book of the same name by Donald L. Miller and follows the actions of the 100th Bomb Group, a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bomber unit in the Eighth Air Force in eastern England during World War II. Masters of the Air recounts the story of the 100th Bomb Group during World War II and follows bomber crews on dangerous missions to destroy targets inside German-occupied Europe, especially the doomed october 10th 1943 mission to Münster Germany, when only one B-17 flown by Robert Rosenthal came back.
The Bloody 100th bombed airfields, industries, marshalling yards, and missile sites in western Europe, January – May 1944. Operations in this period included participation in the Allied campaign against enemy aircraft factories during ''Big Week'' 20th – 25th February 1944. The group completed a series of attacks against Berlin in March 1944 and received a second Distinguished Unit Citation for the missions.
Beginning in the summer of 1944, oil installations became major targets. In addition to strategic operations, the group engaged in support and interdictory missions, hitting bridges and gun positions in the transportation plan preparations for the invasion of Normandy in June 1944. The unit bombed enemy positions at Saint-Lô in July and at Brest in August and September. Other missions were striking transportation and ground defences in the drive against the Siegfried Line, October – December 1944; attacking marshalling yards, defended villages, and communications in the Ardennes sector during the ''Battle of the Bulge'', December 1944 – January 1945; and covering the airborne assault across the Rhine in March 1945.
The 100th Bomb Group received the French Croix de Guerre with Palm for attacking heavily defended installations in Germany and for dropping supplies to French Forces of the Interior, June – December 1944. The 100th BG flew its last combat mission of World War II on 10th April 1945 which was number 306. In December 1945, the group returned to Camp Kilmer, New Jersey. Group personnel were demobilized and the aircraft sent to storage. The unit was inactivated on 21st December 1945 and redesignated as the 100th Bombardment Group (Very Heavy).
After the war, the airfield was transferred to the RAF on 27th June 1946. After many years of inactivity, RAF Thorpe Abbotts was closed in 1956. With the end of military control, the airfield was largely returned to agricultural use with most of the perimeter track, runways and hardstands removed. A small airstrip was built on a part of the former perimeter track which is used for light aircraft. The control tower was restored in 1977 and was turned into the 100th Bomb Group Memorial Museum. Several World War II era buildings remain in various states of decay.

This is a photograph from the annual BHAA Government Services/Social Protection Group's 5 Mile Road Race took place on Tuesday 27th May 2013 at 20:00 in Dunboyne, Co. Meath, Ireland. The course is a fast flat course which begins on the Dunboyne-Maynooth Road between the two entrances to Dunboyne Castle Estate. The race then proceeds in an anti-clockwise direction back to the Dunboyne Athletic Club on the Rooske Road in Dunboyne. The race reaches higher standards with every passing year. Paul Gorey and his team of volunteers must be given great credit for putting on such a wonderful race event. Thanks are also extended to Dunboyne Athletic Club, the BHAA, and the local community who all make this possible.

Overall Race Summary
Participants: There were approximately 500 participants .
Weather: A bright sunny evening with little breeze
Course: This course is fully left handed with very little in the way of inclines. Good road surface. These are nice narrow country roads with shelter provided by mature hedgerows. This year the race finished with 3/4 of a lap of the Dunboyne AC track.
Refreshments: Lots and lots as is the tradition with BHAA Events - served outside the scouts hall at the track.

The DMI Shearwelder is our economical choice for wide strip coil end joining. This machine is capable of handling strip up to .625" thick and up to 85" wide. This semi-automatic shearwelder is specifically designed for applications where the coils are either too thick or too wide to be conveniently welded manually.

The Grand Deception

A little something out of the ordinary, but with an interesting background. I was hiking the hills and came over a knoll and there was a 100 sq. foot "field" of these flowers, flowers that were five inches across. I walked up a bit, took one last step and was up to my shins in water.
The Yera Mansa grows from northern Baja, Mexico to the San Francisco (+ or -) Bay Area and spreads from springfed to spring fed pool. It probably took well over 100 years to make it that distance. It is endemic only to this area of the western U.S.
The Native Americans made great use of the flower. According to Wikipedia, "Yerba mansa is used to treat inflammation of the mucous membranes, swollen gums and sore throat. An infusion of roots can be taken as a diuretic to treat rheumatic diseases like gout by ridding the body of excess uric acid, which causes painful inflammation of the joints. Yerba mansa prevents the buildup of uric acid crystals in the kidneys which could cause kidney stones if left untreated. A powder of dried root can be sprinkled on infected areas to alleviate athlete's foot or diaper rash.Yerba mansa is versatile, it can be taken orally as a tea, tincture, infusion or dried in capsule form. It can be used externally for soaking inflamed or infected areas. It can be ground and used as a dusting powder. Some people in Las Cruces, New Mexico use the leaves to make a poultice to relieve muscle swelling and inflammation."
Every time I read that, I keep thinking that it should probably add, "Yerba Mesa (Anemopsis californica) may cause diarrhea, upset stomach, rash, leg cramps, shortness of breath, brand-named medicine, or death." This is the reason that meds (and class-action lawyers should not be allowed to to advertise on TV - as was the case before the 1980s).

This is a photograph from the annual BHAA Government Services/Social Protection Group's 5 Mile Road Race took place on Tuesday 27th May 2013 at 20:00 in Dunboyne, Co. Meath, Ireland. The course is a fast flat course which begins on the Dunboyne-Maynooth Road between the two entrances to Dunboyne Castle Estate. The race then proceeds in an anti-clockwise direction back to the Dunboyne Athletic Club on the Rooske Road in Dunboyne. The race reaches higher standards with every passing year. Paul Gorey and his team of volunteers must be given great credit for putting on such a wonderful race event. Thanks are also extended to Dunboyne Athletic Club, the BHAA, and the local community who all make this possible.

Overall Race Summary
Participants: There were approximately 500 participants .
Weather: A bright sunny evening with little breeze
Course: This course is fully left handed with very little in the way of inclines. Good road surface. These are nice narrow country roads with shelter provided by mature hedgerows. This year the race finished with 3/4 of a lap of the Dunboyne AC track.
Refreshments: Lots and lots as is the tradition with BHAA Events - served outside the scouts hall at the track.

Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. Indian River quarterback Dominique Brooks beats his old school… sweet revenge!
All week long, he heard the buildup surrounding the big Southeastern District showdown between No. 2 Indian River and No. 1 Oscar Smith. He also was going against his former team as he was the starting quarterback during the Tigers’ run to a third consecutive state championship game last season.
But Brooks handled the pressure as he threw for 206 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Braves to a 28-16 win over Oscar Smith in front of more 5,000 fans. It was the Braves’ first win over the Tigers since 1998. And the win also put Indian River in the driver’s seat to the district title, which they haven’t won since 1996. The Braves finish the season against Grassfield (4-4) and Western Branch (0-8).
Brooks overcame early jitters that included two penalties and back-to-back incompletions on his team's first possession, but he settled down with throws of 25, 15 and 24 yards.
Ahshawn Moore completed the drive with a 1-yard touchdown run to help the Indian River take a 7-0 lead.
The Tigers, who have lost just two Southeastern District games since 2007, answered when quarterback Cam’Ron Kelly threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Kenny Etheridge.
Indian River (8-0, 7-0) regained the lead in the second quarter when Brooks threw an 85-yard touchdown pass to Rasheen Brooks for a 14-7 lead.
Oscar Smith cut the deficit to 14-10 on Austin Benoit’s 27-yard field goal with 3:04 left in the half.
The Braves added to their lead before the half on Carmello Sweat's 69-yard touchdown run to make it 21-10.
The second half started well for Indian River as the Braves capitalized on a muffed snap on a punt to get the ball on the Oscar Smith 31. Three plays later, Brooks threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Moore, who made an incredible one-handed catch in the corner of the end zone. The Braves led 28-10 with 5:33 left in the third quarter.
But Indian River coach Glenwood Ferebee couldn’t relax. He remembered 2015 when the Braves led 14-2 in the fourth quarter, only to watch Oscar Smith score 13 points in the final 3:24 to beat them.
He thought about it even more after Kelly's 24-yard touchdown pass to Etheridge to help cut the deficit to 28-16 with 6:08 left in the game.
And the Braves held on as Ferebee beat Oscar Smith for the first time in his career.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. This is a photograph from the annual BHAA Government Services/Social Protection Group's 5 Mile Road Race took place on Tuesday 27th May 2013 at 20:00 in Dunboyne, Co. Meath, Ireland. The course is a fast flat course which begins on the Dunboyne-Maynooth Road between the two entrances to Dunboyne Castle Estate. The race then proceeds in an anti-clockwise direction back to the Dunboyne Athletic Club on the Rooske Road in Dunboyne. The race reaches higher standards with every passing year. Paul Gorey and his team of volunteers must be given great credit for putting on such a wonderful race event. Thanks are also extended to Dunboyne Athletic Club, the BHAA, and the local community who all make this possible.

Overall Race Summary
Participants: There were approximately 500 participants .
Weather: A bright sunny evening with little breeze
Course: This course is fully left handed with very little in the way of inclines. Good road surface. These are nice narrow country roads with shelter provided by mature hedgerows. This year the race finished with 3/4 of a lap of the Dunboyne AC track.
Refreshments: Lots and lots as is the tradition with BHAA Events - served outside the scouts hall at the track.

Most dentists recommend a proper teeth cleaning every six months to prevent, among other things, the implacable buildup of calculus or tartar -- hardened dental plaque. Routine calculus buildup can only be removed through the use of ultrasonic tools or dental hand instruments. But what of 400,000-year-old dental tartar?

Tel Aviv University researchers, in collaboration with scholars from Spain, the U.K. and Australia, have uncovered evidence of food and potential respiratory irritants entrapped in the dental calculus of 400,000-year-old teeth at Qesem Cave near Tel Aviv, the site of many major discoveries from the late Lower Paleolithic period.
The research, published in Quaternary International, provides direct evidence of what early Palaeolithic people ate and the quality of the air they breathed inside Qesem Cave.
Possible respiratory irritants, including traces of charcoal -- humanmade environmental pollution -- found in the dental calculus, may have resulted from smoke inhalation from indoor fires used for roasting meat on a daily basis. This earliest direct evidence for inhaled environmental pollution may well have had a deleterious effect on the health of these early humans.
"Human teeth of this age have never been studied before for dental calculus, and we had very low expectations because of the age of the plaque," said Prof. Gopher. "However, our international collaborators, using a combination of methods, found many materials entrapped within the calculus. Because the cave was sealed for 200,000 years, everything, including the teeth and its calculus, were preserved exceedingly well."
In what Prof. Barkai describes as a "time capsule," the analysed calculus revealed three major findings: charcoal from indoor fires; evidence for the ingestion of essential plant-based dietary components; and fibers that might have been used to clean teeth or were remnants of raw materials.

"Prof. Karen Hardy published outstanding research on the dental calculus of Neanderthals from El Sidron cave in Spain, but these dated back just 40,000-50,000 years -- we are talking far earlier than this," said Prof. Barkai.
"This is the first evidence that the world's first indoor BBQs had health-related consequences," said Prof. Barkai. "The people who lived in Qesem not only enjoyed the benefits of fire -- roasting their meat indoors -- but they also had to find a way of controlling the fire -- of living with it.
"This is one of the first, if not the first, cases of manmade pollution on the planet. I live near power plants, near chemical factories. On the one hand, we are dependent on technology, but on the other, we are inhaling its pollutants. Progress has a price -- and we find possibly the first evidence of this at Qesem Cave 400,000 years ago."
The researchers also found minute traces of essential fatty acids, possibly from nuts or seeds, and small particles of starch in the analysed calculus. "We know that the cave dwellers ate animals, and exploited them entirely," said Prof. Barkai. "We know that they hunted them, butchered them, roasted them, broke their bones to extract their marrow, and even used the butchered bones as hammers to shape flint tools. Now we have direct evidence of a tiny piece of the plant-based part of their diet also, in addition to the animal meat and fat they consumed.
"We have come full circle in our understanding of their diet and hunting and gathering practices."
Within the calculus, the researchers also discovered small plant fibers, which they suspect may have been used to clean teeth -- prehistoric tooth picks.
"Our findings are rare -- there is no other similar discovery from this time period," said Prof. Barkai. I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. Indian River quarterback Dominique Brooks beats his old school… sweet revenge!
All week long, he heard the buildup surrounding the big Southeastern District showdown between No. 2 Indian River and No. 1 Oscar Smith. He also was going against his former team as he was the starting quarterback during the Tigers’ run to a third consecutive state championship game last season.
But Brooks handled the pressure as he threw for 206 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Braves to a 28-16 win over Oscar Smith in front of more 5,000 fans. It was the Braves’ first win over the Tigers since 1998. And the win also put Indian River in the driver’s seat to the district title, which they haven’t won since 1996. The Braves finish the season against Grassfield (4-4) and Western Branch (0-8).
Brooks overcame early jitters that included two penalties and back-to-back incompletions on his team's first possession, but he settled down with throws of 25, 15 and 24 yards.
Ahshawn Moore completed the drive with a 1-yard touchdown run to help the Indian River take a 7-0 lead.
The Tigers, who have lost just two Southeastern District games since 2007, answered when quarterback Cam’Ron Kelly threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Kenny Etheridge.
Indian River (8-0, 7-0) regained the lead in the second quarter when Brooks threw an 85-yard touchdown pass to Rasheen Brooks for a 14-7 lead.
Oscar Smith cut the deficit to 14-10 on Austin Benoit’s 27-yard field goal with 3:04 left in the half.
The Braves added to their lead before the half on Carmello Sweat's 69-yard touchdown run to make it 21-10.
The second half started well for Indian River as the Braves capitalized on a muffed snap on a punt to get the ball on the Oscar Smith 31. Three plays later, Brooks threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Moore, who made an incredible one-handed catch in the corner of the end zone. The Braves led 28-10 with 5:33 left in the third quarter.
But Indian River coach Glenwood Ferebee couldn’t relax. He remembered 2015 when the Braves led 14-2 in the fourth quarter, only to watch Oscar Smith score 13 points in the final 3:24 to beat them.
He thought about it even more after Kelly's 24-yard touchdown pass to Etheridge to help cut the deficit to 28-16 with 6:08 left in the game.
And the Braves held on as Ferebee beat Oscar Smith for the first time in his career.

This is a photograph from the annual BHAA Government Services/Social Protection Group's 5 Mile Road Race took place on Tuesday 27th May 2013 at 20:00 in Dunboyne, Co. Meath, Ireland. The course is a fast flat course which begins on the Dunboyne-Maynooth Road between the two entrances to Dunboyne Castle Estate. The race then proceeds in an anti-clockwise direction back to the Dunboyne Athletic Club on the Rooske Road in Dunboyne. The race reaches higher standards with every passing year. Paul Gorey and his team of volunteers must be given great credit for putting on such a wonderful race event. Thanks are also extended to Dunboyne Athletic Club, the BHAA, and the local community who all make this possible.

Participants: There were approximately 500 participants .
Weather: A bright sunny evening with little breeze
Course: This course is fully left handed with very little in the way of inclines. Good road surface. These are nice narrow country roads with shelter provided by mature hedgerows. This year the race finished with 3/4 of a lap of the Dunboyne AC track.
Refreshments: Lots and lots as is the tradition with BHAA Events - served outside the scouts hall at the track.

This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.
