The G20 was the biggest police buildup Hamburg has ever seen. 23.000 riot police from all over Germany and numerous anti-terror squads from Germany and Austria were also on scene. Around 45 high tech water- cannons , armoured police SUVs as well as dozens of helicopters and patrol boats were also deployed. In Hamburg-Harburg a detention center for 400 people was erected at costs of about 3 Million Euro.
Weeks before the summit police conducted training with helicopters, road-blocks and anti-terror practice. During the summit-week police, beside establishing the red zone near the summit center, also installed a blue zone as a demonstration and gathering free area that stretched out about one thirds of the city area and covered 38km².
In many ways the police build-up was exceptional in a dense populated City like Hamburg. The lessons learnt after the Genua G20 riots in 2001 in summit policing did not much apply in Hamburg. Instead Hamburg minister of the interior proclaimed a “festival of democracy” and a police acting with low threshold of intervention.
The Hamburg police tactic can for sure be described as “zero tolerance”. Order was given for a hardline approach, preventing any breach of law promptly. This lead to a series of confrontations and feelings of besiegement among protesters and citizens of Hamburg - all in advance of the actual summit-riots. Weeks before the summit people all around the city were stopped and strip-searched, because “they looked suspicious”. Days before the summit, protest- camps, in some cases legally approved by courts, were blocked and disturbed by the police. For days police helicopters were hoovering above the city day and night. Main streets were blocked for “convoy-practise” and during the summit deliveries of goods and services were significantly disturbed.
During the summit-protests, police stuck to their hardline approach, leading to a significant escalation at the “welcome to hell” demonstration on Thursday the 6th, when police stopped and broke up the demonstration, before any physical violence occurred on side of the protesters.
From this point on, Hamburg saw 3 days of massive peaceful protests, as well as significant rioting and looting, which lead to the deployment of special forces (SEK) with hand held grenade launchers and assault rifles against rioters on the night of the 7th and 8th of July.
Police claims about 500 injured policemen, half of them probably due to friendly teargas fire, exhaustion and illness, others through injuries on duty and in riot. Many police had insufficient accommodation and many were on duty for 3 days without sleep.
There are no official numbers of injured protesters so far, but it is estimated that it must be more than a thousand, some with life threatening conditions, many broken limbs and head- injuries.
The question wether police could have prevented the worst is now widely discussed. Also in question is the fact that riots in the Schanzenviertel could spread for hours without any police present on Friday night. Also no police was on the scene when a group of hundred marched through the City of Altona burning cars and smashing shops on Friday morning. People of Hamburg are asking why 23.000 police were not able to prevent what was happening and why the police was conducting violence on peaceful protesters too.
The Hamburg Senate coalition of Social-Democrats and Green Party, so far, see no evidence of a failed police- tactic nor any evidence of police violence. It will be to the civil rights movements to investigate.
The promised “Festival of Democracy” and the safety of the citizens of Hamburg was a joke. The police failed to prevent mass riots and failed to handle the situation in many cases. The costs of all this is not just a money issue, but also an issue of basic democratic rights, that have been suspended for the safety of 20 world leaders.
Around 100.000 peaceful protesters on more than 80 events, were basically not represented in the public view. Instead police and media reports, in most cases, only focused on the riots.

Operation Starlite (also known in Vietnam as Battle of Van Tuong) was the first major offensive regimental size action conducted by a purely U.S. military unit during the Vietnam War. The operation was launched based on intelligence provided by Major General Nguyen Chanh Thi, the commander of the South Vietnamese forces in northern I Corps area. Lieutenant General Lewis W. Walt devised a plan to launch a pre-emptive strike against the Viet Cong regiment to nullify the threat on the vital Chu Lai Air Base and Base Area and ensure its powerful communication tower remained intact.
The operation was conducted as a combined arms assault involving ground, air and naval units. U.S. Marines were deployed by helicopter insertion into the designated landing zone while an amphibious landing was used to deploy other Marines.

All week long, he heard the buildup surrounding the big Southeastern District showdown between No. 2 Indian River and No. 1 Oscar Smith. He also was going against his former team as he was the starting quarterback during the Tigers’ run to a third consecutive state championship game last season.
But Brooks handled the pressure as he threw for 206 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Braves to a 28-16 win over Oscar Smith in front of more 5,000 fans. It was the Braves’ first win over the Tigers since 1998. And the win also put Indian River in the driver’s seat to the district title, which they haven’t won since 1996. The Braves finish the season against Grassfield (4-4) and Western Branch (0-8).
Brooks overcame early jitters that included two penalties and back-to-back incompletions on his team's first possession, but he settled down with throws of 25, 15 and 24 yards.
Ahshawn Moore completed the drive with a 1-yard touchdown run to help the Indian River take a 7-0 lead.
The Tigers, who have lost just two Southeastern District games since 2007, answered when quarterback Cam’Ron Kelly threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Kenny Etheridge.
Indian River (8-0, 7-0) regained the lead in the second quarter when Brooks threw an 85-yard touchdown pass to Rasheen Brooks for a 14-7 lead.
Oscar Smith cut the deficit to 14-10 on Austin Benoit’s 27-yard field goal with 3:04 left in the half.
The Braves added to their lead before the half on Carmello Sweat's 69-yard touchdown run to make it 21-10.
The second half started well for Indian River as the Braves capitalized on a muffed snap on a punt to get the ball on the Oscar Smith 31. Three plays later, Brooks threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Moore, who made an incredible one-handed catch in the corner of the end zone. The Braves led 28-10 with 5:33 left in the third quarter.
But Indian River coach Glenwood Ferebee couldn’t relax. He remembered 2015 when the Braves led 14-2 in the fourth quarter, only to watch Oscar Smith score 13 points in the final 3:24 to beat them.
He thought about it even more after Kelly's 24-yard touchdown pass to Etheridge to help cut the deficit to 28-16 with 6:08 left in the game.

Ta-da! After all that buildup - this is what Roosevelt Island's Northtown looks like on the ground. Most of what we see here is the (formerly) subsidized housing complex Eastwood (now "Roosevelt Landings"), by Josep Lluís Sert. The warmer-colored building in the distance is Sert's other contribution, the market-rate Westview. Visible at top left is one of the two buildings by John Johansen and Ashok Bhavnani, the "Island House" middle-income complex. And, at bottom right, we have Frederick Clarke Withers's Chapel of the Good Shepherd (1889), one of the historic buildings hand-picked for preservation by Johnson. All together, it comprises 1/3 or so of an incomplete but highly picturesque urban sequence. The multiple cranks in the street's plan serve no 'functional' purpose, but rather are there to make the experience of walking the street more interesting. Following in the long line from Sitte to Gordon Cullen, Johnson's plan imagines a series of discoveries: round the corner and find the church! Round the church and find... well, not much more because that's the end of Northtown. But you get the idea. To really push the pedestrian meander, private vehicular traffic was originally banished from the streets with the aid of a monumental parking structure which we'll be examining shortly.
This kind of planning was kicked around by Team X but would really find its home with the Postmodernists, who of course rejected the fairly severe architectural language on display here. I admit to being a sometimes fan of Pomo but I do find that shift a little unfortunate; what we see here promises a whole line of potential experiments in hybridizing modernist architecture and Townscape planning. Bear in mind that none of this is quite what Johnson's master plan indicated. The highest buildings here are eighteen stories instead of twelve, and the stable of architects working on the housing fell down to just Sert and Johansen/Bhavnani only after Conklin Rossant and Romaldo Giurgola left (or were pushed out by disputes over budget and design). But I think it's quite effective. At the very least, one must admit that it feels unlike any other street in New York.
Of course, the beauty of this scene depends on a few things not always available: (1) a site already rich with non-Modernist landmarks to act as foci and counterpoints, (2) an architect as talented as Sert, who layers on the golden rectangles and compositional tricks to make a somewhat overburdened plan hang together as a modern-day castle from the exterior, (3) strong sunlight, and (4) viewers initiated into the fairly arbitrary and elite taste culture of Late Modernism. I do think there are certain things here that are more successful than others; in my next upload I'll start breaking down the individual buildings by Sert and Johansen/Bhavnani.

The reactor pressure vessel at the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station shows a buildup of boric acid deposits from leaking nozzles (not shown). The plant later discovered the acid had corroded part of the pressure vessel head, triggering a two-year shut down to repair the damage. As part a buildup activity to the International Women’s day, the United Nation in Kenya on 4th March 2016 participated in a 5 Km Pre-Run in Nairobi. The run was aimed at sensitizing UN Staff to participate at the First lady of Kenya’s Marathon dubbed Beyond Zero Campaign (aimed at ensuring policy prioritization, resource allocation & improved service delivery for mothers and children in Kenya) and also the Upcoming international women’s day.
The run was flagged off by the UN Women Kenya Country Director MS. Zebib Kavuma and the United Nation Office in Nairobi Director General Ms. Sahle-Work Zewde.

This is a photograph from the annual BHAA Government Services/Social Protection Group's 5 Mile Road Race took place on Tuesday 27th May 2013 at 20:00 in Dunboyne, Co. Meath, Ireland. The course is a fast flat course which begins on the Dunboyne-Maynooth Road between the two entrances to Dunboyne Castle Estate. The race then proceeds in an anti-clockwise direction back to the Dunboyne Athletic Club on the Rooske Road in Dunboyne. The race reaches higher standards with every passing year. Paul Gorey and his team of volunteers must be given great credit for putting on such a wonderful race event. Thanks are also extended to Dunboyne Athletic Club, the BHAA, and the local community who all make this possible.

Refreshments: Lots and lots as is the tradition with BHAA Events - served outside the scouts hall at the track.

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. This is a photograph from the annual BHAA Government Services/Social Protection Group's 5 Mile Road Race took place on Tuesday 27th May 2013 at 20:00 in Dunboyne, Co. Meath, Ireland. The course is a fast flat course which begins on the Dunboyne-Maynooth Road between the two entrances to Dunboyne Castle Estate. The race then proceeds in an anti-clockwise direction back to the Dunboyne Athletic Club on the Rooske Road in Dunboyne. The race reaches higher standards with every passing year. Paul Gorey and his team of volunteers must be given great credit for putting on such a wonderful race event. Thanks are also extended to Dunboyne Athletic Club, the BHAA, and the local community who all make this possible.

Participants: There were approximately 500 participants .
Weather: A bright sunny evening with little breeze
Course: This course is fully left handed with very little in the way of inclines. Good road surface. These are nice narrow country roads with shelter provided by mature hedgerows. This year the race finished with 3/4 of a lap of the Dunboyne AC track.
Refreshments: Lots and lots as is the tradition with BHAA Events - served outside the scouts hall at the track.

As part a buildup activity to the International Women’s day, the United Nation in Kenya on 4th March 2016 participated in a 5 Km Pre-Run in Nairobi. The run was aimed at sensitizing UN Staff to participate at the First lady of Kenya’s Marathon dubbed Beyond Zero Campaign (aimed at ensuring policy prioritization, resource allocation & improved service delivery for mothers and children in Kenya) and also the Upcoming international women’s day.
The run was flagged off by the UN Women Kenya Country Director MS. Zebib Kavuma and the United Nation Office in Nairobi Director General Ms. Sahle-Work Zewde.

IMPORTANT DISPATCH: PRIORITY THREE
- The increase in buildups of metals, primarily those used in airship manufacturing, by the Strasic, is a direct result of their aggressive foreign policies. They are constantly building new airships to expand and control their territories. Numerous other sources, including some of my own, are tasked with keeping tabs on this distribution and allocation of these metals, as they are the single most reliable way of keeping track with the size and complement of the Strasic Imperium's air fleets.
- As of two (2) years ago, we noticed a small increase in the total amount of produced metals, yet also a slgnificant decrease in the amount of warships produced. Listed below, in no particular order, are a number of possible explanations for this, which I have deduced from my own personal knowledge and experience from my years as an intelligence officer;
- A change in foreign policy towards non-belligerency
- A dramatic shift in shipbuilding strategy
- A redesign of Airfleet composition
- An unkwown secret project
All of these are possible explanations for this phenomenon. However, I feel obligated to include my own personal opinion as to the true nature of this development. It is my belief that the Strasic Imperium is preparing for a war. The Feral War has left much of the continent impoverished, and many nations' airfleets are severely depleted. I believe the Straserian high command is taking advantage of this and massively expanding its airfleets as quickly as possible to take advantage of this fact. However, this specific figure is concerning to me, as it seems to indicate the opposite. How can one increase one's navy while building fewer ships? I believe the answers lies in the ships themselves. It is my personal opinion that the Imperial Shipyards are currently developing, and may even be in the process of building, massive new airships, of an intirely different class than anything we've seen before. These ships are to be the flagships of a new Imperial Fleet tasked with conquering many new territories.
A source within the Imperial Shipyards produced evidence of a new propeller design, one with massive dimensions, more than three times the size of the largest current propeller. Other sources reported the building of massive new airdocks, built under the guise of accomodating new passenger liners. However, the Imperial Airways Line Company have not introduced a new design nor increased production of their ships, leading me to conclude this is a misdirection.
I hope this report will convince those concerned of the need to take immediate action.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. This is a photograph from the annual BHAA Government Services/Social Protection Group's 5 Mile Road Race took place on Tuesday 27th May 2013 at 20:00 in Dunboyne, Co. Meath, Ireland. The course is a fast flat course which begins on the Dunboyne-Maynooth Road between the two entrances to Dunboyne Castle Estate. The race then proceeds in an anti-clockwise direction back to the Dunboyne Athletic Club on the Rooske Road in Dunboyne. The race reaches higher standards with every passing year. Paul Gorey and his team of volunteers must be given great credit for putting on such a wonderful race event. Thanks are also extended to Dunboyne Athletic Club, the BHAA, and the local community who all make this possible.

Participants: There were approximately 500 participants .
Weather: A bright sunny evening with little breeze
Course: This course is fully left handed with very little in the way of inclines. Good road surface. These are nice narrow country roads with shelter provided by mature hedgerows. This year the race finished with 3/4 of a lap of the Dunboyne AC track.
Refreshments: Lots and lots as is the tradition with BHAA Events - served outside the scouts hall at the track.

Met-Ed continues an aggressive effort to restore customers in eastern Pennsylvania who lost power as a result of a severe winter storm that produced up to half an inch of ice that downed trees and wires in the region.
After a suitable buildup, the busker is ready to do his trick. Unfortunately, just as he did his thing, a large somewhat impolite man moved in front of us and blocked our view. Actually, he pushed his way in front of us, and he had made himself even bigger by carrying a young girl on his shoulders. Oh well... By the time I had repositioned myself, the trick was done. The good news was he got the raquet off his thigh and didn't fall.

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. This is a photograph from the annual BHAA Government Services/Social Protection Group's 5 Mile Road Race took place on Tuesday 27th May 2013 at 20:00 in Dunboyne, Co. Meath, Ireland. The course is a fast flat course which begins on the Dunboyne-Maynooth Road between the two entrances to Dunboyne Castle Estate. The race then proceeds in an anti-clockwise direction back to the Dunboyne Athletic Club on the Rooske Road in Dunboyne. The race reaches higher standards with every passing year. Paul Gorey and his team of volunteers must be given great credit for putting on such a wonderful race event. Thanks are also extended to Dunboyne Athletic Club, the BHAA, and the local community who all make this possible.

Overall Race Summary
Participants: There were approximately 500 participants .
Weather: A bright sunny evening with little breeze
Course: This course is fully left handed with very little in the way of inclines. Good road surface. These are nice narrow country roads with shelter provided by mature hedgerows. This year the race finished with 3/4 of a lap of the Dunboyne AC track.
Refreshments: Lots and lots as is the tradition with BHAA Events - served outside the scouts hall at the track.

Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.

Well Joe it’s no secret the buildup to the competition tonight has been fierce and both sides have been pretty vocal about both their skills and mocs. However I gotta say The Zhang has been a pretty disappointing in the smack department, here’s hoping Nannan can ratchet it up a notch during tonight’s event.
This is true Johnny but his steely silent refusal of the Mute’s MOCs can only be interpreted in one way. Guess we’ll have to wait and see how each will bring it in the dome.
Buildup of the Delta II that will carry into space the Mars Global Surveyor continues at Launch Complex 17A on Cape Canaveral Air Station, as workers install the nine solid propellant graphite epoxy motors around the first stage of the vehicle. The Surveyor is slated for liftoff during a 20-day launch period opening Nov. 6.
