The building was once the home of the prominent Bosak family, a Jewish family who resided there for generations—reportedly for 400 years—before World War II and the Nazi occupation led to the creation of the Krakow Ghetto, forcing them to relocate. The large mural adorning the side of the building was created by the Israeli street art collective Broken Fingaz during the 24th Jewish Culture Festival in 2014. The mural is a tribute to Ephraim Moses Lilien, a Polish-Jewish Art Nouveau illustrator and photographer who was known for his work with Jewish themes and played a role in the establishment of the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem. The mural, created in a black and white Art Nouveau style, incorporates symbolic elements and features text in Yiddish, including the words "Broken Finger" which is the artistic signature of the Broken Fingaz crew.

New Brighton Lighthouse also known as Perch Rock Lighthouse is a decommissioned 19th century lighthouse situated on the River Mersey and Liverpool Bay. The lighthouse was in continuous use until decommissioned in October 1973 having been superseded by modern navigational technology. At low tide, it is possible to walk to the base of the tower, but a 25-foot ladder is needed to reach the doorway. The lighthouse is privately owned and maintained by the Kingham family, and is a Grade II* listed building.

One of the most remarkable home estates in the Covington area is the Villa de la Vergne, located on Riverside Drive just south of the first courthouse in Claiborne. It sits on a bluff facing the Bogue Falaya River overlooking Covington on the other side. It was built prior to the Civil War and at one time consisted of 87 acres between the Bogue Falaya and Abita Rivers. It was the summer home of the de la Vergne family of New Orleans, a family that included military officers, bankers, elected officials and prominent lawyers. They are considered one of the founding families of New Orleans, having first arrived from France in 1767.

Founded as a Benedictine abbey in 1092, Dedicated to Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary, The original church was built in the Romanesque or Norman style, parts of which can still be seen today. This church was subsequently rebuilt from around 1250 onward in the Gothic style, a process which took about 275 years and resulted in the incredible structure seen today.

Liberdade Square or Liberty Square is a square in the city of Porto, Portugal. It is located in Santo Ildefonso parish, in the lower town (Baixa) area. The square is continuous on its north side with the Avenida dos Aliados, an important avenue of the city.

The square has its origins in the beginning of the 18th century.

Igreja de São Domingos is a church in Lisbon, Portugal. It is classified as a National Monument.

The church was dedicated in 1241 and was, at one time, the largest church in Lisbon. Prior to the establishment of the modern Portuguese republic in 1910, the church typically hosted Portuguese royal weddings. Formerly the home of the Inquisition, Jesuit missionary Gabriel Malagrida was famously executed at the church in 1761 after being accused of treason.

The church was damaged by the 1531 Lisbon earthquake and almost completely destroyed in the 1755 earthquake.Rebuilding began quickly but wasn't completed until 1807. In 1959 the church was devastated once more when a fire broke out in the building. The fire, which killed two firemen, took more than six hours to extinguish and completely gutted the church, destroying many important paintings and statues. In 1994 the church reopened. The restoration left many signs of the fire in place.

The old federal post office building in Thibodaux looks a bit different from most that you’ve seen before. It was constructed in 1925-6, before the massive New Deal post office construction push—the building is asymmetrical, it has small ventilation windows above the actual windows and

its cornerstone is marble.

The historic post office building is located at the south side of West 5th Street between St. Louis St. and Green St. However, it no longer serves as such; postal operations were relocated when a new federal building was constructed a bit less than half a mile south along Canal Boulevard, the city’s primary north-south thoroughfare. The ‘20s post office building now

serves as an annex facility for the offices of Lafourche County.

'City is building...' - Amsterdam photos and pictures.

A cityscape of Amsterdam with a wide view over the Oosterdok / Docklands area, full of excavations and sheet piling along the train track (to the right) and ramming activities for new buildings - the large bows of the 19th century smoke caps of the Central station are very clear visible to the right on the horizon.

Also you can see above the horizon the two towers and dome of the Nicolas church, in front of the Central Station building.

Location: Vienna (Austria). Donauturm [Danube Tower], in Donaupark.

Subject: The Donauturm is one of the most famous attractions in Vienna. Built in 1964 and located in Donaupark—a vast place for leisure nearby the Danube—it is the Austria's highest building (252 metres, from base to top). It has a restaurant (170 metres), a café (160 metres) and an observation platform (150 metres). On the platform there is a bungee jumping facility, where one may fall down from a gangplank 8 metres long. The day I visited the Donauturm, the bungee structure was closed with the plank lifted up. I took this photo from behind the protective fence of the platform, to create a sort of abstract industrial picture: the metal tower you see beyond the fence is the bungee jumping gangplank.

Ledbury a beautiful market town in Herefordshire. Ledbury whose origins date to around AD 690. In April 1645, during the English Civil War, a battle was fought at Ledbury between Royalist forces under Prince Rupert and Roundhead forces under Col Edward Massey, a veteran parliamentarian leader during the Siege of Gloucester. As Prince Rupert’s forces advanced north, towards Leicester, Massey’s forces barricaded the town, but were subsequently routed from Ledbury and pursued for many miles, losing 520 men. It was one of the last royalist victories of the First Civil War, Rupert’s army would later be comprehensively defeated at the Battle of Naseby.

The wall is a remnant of the basilica's rich history, which includes fires, restorations, and even pillaging. The wall includes buttresses, a moulded plinth, and a drip cornice, adding to its architectural detail. The basilica is situated in the Kazimierz district, and the wall helps define its presence within that area. The wall is made of both brick and stone, giving it a distinct look and feel. The wall is an integral part of the basilica's overall structure and contributes to its historical and architectural significance.

The brick structure is two-stories in height, and it was constructed on a partially raised basement. It features a semi-circular apsidal end, ornamental pinnacles, and buttresses. The central square tower that is capped with a spire is embedded into the structure, and it has a recessed Gothic-arched entrance. Local architect James Hardie designed the Gothic Revival building.

'View on the city center' Amsterdam photos and pictures.

A view over the old city-center and with the large excavation-site and building-pit on Oosterdok / Docklands, with piling plants and concrete piles lying on the ground.

To the left is located the old city-center of Amsterdam and the Nicolas church (the little brick tower in front of the church with its pointed roof is the 17th century Schreiers-toren / Weepers Tower, because the sailors left there for long voyages on sea). All opposite Central Station Amsterdam ( to the left) and the bus station.

Sir Giles Gilbert Scott OM RA (9 November 1880 – 8 February 1960) was an English architect known for his work on Liverpool Cathedral, Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford, Cambridge University Library, Waterloo Bridge and Battersea Power Station and designing the iconic red telephone box. Scott came from a family of architects. He was noted for his blending of Gothic tradition with modernism, making what might otherwise have been functionally designed buildings into popular landmarks. In 1901, while Scott was still a pupil in Moore's practice, the diocese of Liverpool announced a competition to select the architect of a new cathedral.1903 Scott was winner of the competition and awarded the design of the cathedral at the young age of 22.
