Shooting a bug zapper, I accidentally zoomed during what turned out to be a long exposure.

Even mistakes can make a pretty cool pic.

At the top is steam but to the right and to the left of the Solar mirror tower the small white puffs of smoke is insects getting zapped as they fly into the path of the suns rays reflecting off the panel. An employee told me the tower gets up to a 1000 ° and once saw a bird fly in front of it and it fell to the ground smoking.

The iPhone camera has a wide angle lens. This shot required a telephoto lens and a shutter burst sequence to capture the capsule at its ever-so-brief peak height. Decided to make this imaginary image instead, and rename the ride as BugZapper • Please click photo to enlarge.

This is what I saw through a tempered glass camper door, the fire and bugzapper made the cool effect of right-brain, left-brain with a twist.

And then my husband put on a video from YouTube entitled, "Billy Meier Interview by Randy Winters."

And what about the UFOs?

Cripe, there is so much we don't understand about life, death and the afterlife.

It's probably a good idea to leave it alone though. This is the modified microwave oven which Eightdot and SA007 used in their Megazapper 9001 Scavenger hunt project at Eth0:2012 Summer.

This fall we have had beautiful weather , and the leaves have all been gorgeous too.

This was shot after it got dark, but I really liked the colours of the leaves around the lights

A tennis racket bug zapper. $6.97 at Walmart - I may start leaving the door open to let some bugs in.

I love bees. I really do. Except for the woodboring kind. That's why I keep my trusty electrified tennis racket handy. I don't bother the males, but, when I see the telltale white face of a female, I go into combat mode...}=]

I started the summer off constantly yelping at the boys “Get in or get out, I don’t care, just shut the door to keep the flies out” lately three have been so many flies in the house I might as well say “open the door to let the flies out.” They are arrogant little suckers too. Half the time when I walk out and reach to grab one the flyswatters I find a fly or two sitting on it. We also seem to have to have a lot of mosquitoes this year. Bugs bugs bugs driving me crazy.

I knew I was loosing the battle of the bugs, so I went to Wal-Mart to invest in a bug zapper. After scouring back and forth through the lawn and garden area in side and out a half a dozen times I gave up and asked for help. Unfortunately, as I discovered, Wal-Mart doesn’t have bug zappers anymore. Lucky for me Lowes does. Our bug problem is pretty severe so I went for the upper class one that cost $39 instead of the $31. The label says it has a new improved light shown to attract 30% more bugs… and I really want to kill bugs.

I remembered loving the bug zapper as a child, sitting out in the backyard in the evening enjoying the cool of the day and watching bugs fry is classic redneck entertainment. I was actually kind of excited for my boys to watch the spark in the soft blue glow of the bug light. When we plugged ours in I discovered the new improved light was purple. It wasn’t until the sun went down that we discovered it acts as a black light too. Glow in the dark swimsuits and toys were worth definitely worth the extra 8 bucks even if the thing doesn’t attract 30% more bugs.

(Yeah I'm just an oversized kid)

This is me, my wife's uncle, and my father in law all sitting around the mobile bar we made for the lake.

It only took us about 20 hours to build it. It weighs around 1600 lbs. Its made out of MDO, Knotty Pine, and Stainless Steel Tops that were custom fitted. We distressed the pine with rebar, chains, and hammers. Then we sprayed the tool marks, resanded the whole bar, and then stained and poly-ed the bar. It sits on Industrial casters and has a custom Canvas cover. It's also wired, so you can run blenders, or set up the margarita machine. Not bad for a couple days work.

This is what builders do in their free time. And like anything else builders do, its for sale. Haha.

I've heard that bug zapper lights do more harm than good, but I don't care. This one is inside my screened porch, so the bugs it zaps are in my house yo. The sound of it makes me less itchy.
