Died tonight at the age of 100, in cat years...
Our beloved Katie, who entered the world in February of 1995, and came home with Berra and me from the animal shelter six months later, passed away in my arms (with me lying on the kitchen floor with her, and with her looking deeply into my eyes the whole time) at midnite tonite.
This is a picture of her in May of 2008. It was one of the first pix I took with my brand new Canon EOS 450D Rebel XSI Kiss.
Being a long-hair tortoise-shell, she was usually hard to photograph. Her hair was always some kind of messy. I have lots of really bad pictures of her. But I also have a few good ones, and I spent today pulling some of them together. This is one of my favorites.
Katie was a far better conversationalist than many people I know. She always had something to say about whatever was going on. And she had an amazing vocabulary. The house is almost unbearably quiet without her, already.
Katie was a trooper to the end. She had a great life and I'm going to miss her so very much.

Jake Bugg onstage @ the Capital FM Area, Nottingham, on Thursday February 20th 2014.
The opening night of his current UK tour this was his biggest headline show to date (to an arena crowd of over 12 thousand) and the first time an artist from Nottingham has headlined the arena located in the centre of the city.

Ugg Buggs (known as Buggs) is 2 years old. I first met him a year ago when he came to the rescue centre on the programme the centre runs to care for the pets of the victims of domestic violence. He's been in a foster home for the last year with his mother, Pip, but his owner has now decided that she's not in a position to take him back, so she's signed him over for adoption. I don't think I need to tell you how gorgeous he is ... you only have to look at his face to see how much he enjoys life. If I had room for another one I'd take him home with me today, but sadly common sense has to prevail. Shame! :)
