So today I was taking a picture of a sunflower and some of its pollen fell out. I decided to take pictures of the pollen, so I was tapping the flower to get pollen to fall. Out fell this little bug that was hiding in there! He kept getting caught up in all the pollen and I thought it was kind of cute. Little tiny sunflower bug. Look at all the pollen trapped in his legs!
They tell me that these tiny little windshields will deflect bugs. Personally, I probably don't go fast enough to make them effective.
Tigger is a really sweet cat, but to be honest, I think his posing days are over! He was very cooperative in the past when he lived in Sugar Mill Gardens, and knew that posing would somehow ensure some kind of food reward, but now that he gets plenty to eat, his tolerance of the camera is limited! He still loves visitors, though, and everyone who comes over to my house is immediately greeted by him, meowing, preening, and drooling from happiness! (Yes, cats drool when they're content. Yuk.)
Right now, he's laying curled up against my bed pillow, something I haven't been able to break him of, but he looks so cute that I can't shoo him! It's almost bedtime, so all the cats, Barrymore and Squeegee, too, are assembled right next to me, waiting for their nightly tuna. So, goodnight for now!

Boxelder bugs are primarily a nuisance because they enter homes and other buildings, often in large numbers. Fortunately, they do not bite people and are essentially harmless to property.
This batch of bugs was huddled around my door at work.It faces the sun and they are wanting to find a place to winter.

Poor guy. He doesn't realize no bugs are coming his way.

I didn't realize how ratty this fixture looked until I took this photo. Afterwards I bought a new one but that started the usual snowball effect that ends in cursing when I try to do a home project.
The wood behind the fixture was rotten so I had to fix that. Then the new fixture was too tall and hit an awning thingy right above it so I had to go back and get another smaller one but while I'm at Home Depot my $20 sunglasses fall out of my pocket somewhere so I had to stop at WalMart and buy another pair. Then I get home and realize that the smaller fixture doesn't have a photo sensor and on and on and on......aaarrrgghh!!
June, 2009. I just discovered that the girls have been taking numerous photos and videos and have been uploading them to their computer. Hence, very few people have seen them (not even me). H was recording hreself playing the piano when she spied a bug "that might have a stinger". This caused a bit of concern. . . . .
Special gluten-free cake made to celebrate the nasty software bug my husband and his coworkers 'defeated' just in time for their big monthly meeting. This was my first (almost successful) attempt at making my own fondant for the cake drape (because the commercial stuff has ingredients with gluten in it). Bug-Slayer Man (who no one had the heart to eat) is made with (much easier to work with) commercial fondant tinted with gel food coloring.

Close inspection of many of the hotrods reveals bug splatter from the long drive to the show some have made on the interstate. For the most part, the more than 3500 rods entered in the show are real "drivers" and not trailer queens.
It'd be nice to have a macro lens. But hey, it'd also be nice to have a pony.
I know EVERYONE says "HIT 'L' TO VIEW BIG AND ON BLACK LOL" but this one probably does deserve it. You can see its hairy little legs and stuff. Sweet.
