A Leaf Footed Bug at Blackwater Conservation Area near Baton Rouge, LA

Lovely bug in Aperture 1.5.6 on Leopard. Only appears on a few of my pictures, only in really blown highlights, and it may be related to the RAW files on my camera or computer hardware, but it still looks like a pretty obvious Aperture bug. RAW file looks fine in Preview and re-importing into Aperture causes the same problem. Aperture export to external editor (as TIFF) has the problem too.

I don't usually take pictures of bugs, but this guy was in my photo light box this morning.

Found in the backyard last June. I have no clue what kind of bug this is. It was a bit bigger than a large housefly and was not too concerned with the camera lens.

I don't shoot many bugs (I usually step on them;-) but since there are bug lovers, here's my one and only contribution. These things look like Japanese beetles on steroids, and they are very fond of the hounds' blackberries.

Blends into wood surfaces rather well it seems.

Fried (or otherwise cooked) bugs! This is the only place we saw them (aside from the ant larvae in the market in Chiang Mai).

I could not bring myself to eat any. They were HUGE!

Spotted this unusual bug on Marco Island, FL. It was shiny black with white dots , about 1" big near the water.
