Bucky Balls are so cool. They are super magnets! If you aren't familiar with them, here's a link: www.nsf.gov/od/lpa/nsf50/nsfoutreach/htm/n50_z2/pages_z3/...

Last winter I saw three deer near the cabin. Trudging through the snow in the evening they came to eat the left overs of bird seed I had put out each day. I thought all were doe at the time. However, in the summer I saw three deer, one doe and two bucks that acted as if they owned the land where the cabin was placed. It finally dawned on me that these were my three winter deer. This was the senior buck. I named him "Bucky".

Is this close enough for you. He is just outside the kitchen window stareing up at me. I was tossing out apple pieces. He was with two doe that fed on cracked corn. Oh yes, this is not cropped.

Went through some older photos of warmer days and came across my old buddy, Bucky.

19 years young

This is a sweet buck that grew up basically in my backyard a couple years ago. He moved away once he got bigger and I haven't seen him since.

Our favourite urban roebuck has not left his city home despite coming into his rut; he seems quite happy where he is. He can leave any time he wants, the same way he came in, but he's obviously enjoying the good life too much.

I wanted to catch a portrait of him amongst the Spring flowers, in his private paradise. His antlers are now out of velvet and looking pristine. Zoom in for details

This photo from July of this year, when bucky and I had a beautiful friendship going. But now, I have not seen him in weeks. I guess he must have other things on his mind. ;-)

They seem to be on a schedule that brings them around between 6 and 7 PM. He will get within 6 ft of me. I fed him some corn and apple from the garage, but when I came in the house he stood out there under the kitchen window and stared up at me, so I had to get more apple for him and toss it out the window. I will have to get more apples. Not Cropped.

So Excited to see this gorgeous buck hanging out on my morning walk.

It's Bucky's 3rd Birthday today!

Happy birthday little one, may there be many more to come!

Actually he's 3.5 years old. Today is the day I got him from the pet store, I am guessing he must be about 6 months already when he was there - hence 3.5 years old.

Well Jeanne, I was close enough to see the bugs that are buzzing around her head. That's one reason the ears are on the move alot. She is having some apple and COB.

This tree was gnawed down many, many years ago by a beaver. They have moved on due to fluctuating water levels and I occasionally spot one in one of the other ponds on this preserve.

We spend a lot of time in the car together every day. Often Charlie takes over the whole seat so Bucky sneaks over onto my lap as I drive. I don't think there's a law against that, is there? Today I had to pull over and take their photo because they were both sitting up and enjoying looking out at the world and being so very cute.

I enjoyed watching 4+ beavers last evening, working hard, building their lodges on our local Carson Creek. El Dorado Hills, CA
