What’s cooler than a bubble top dragster? Nothing. No, seriously, I looked it up and a bubble top dragster like totally blows up the cool-o-meter! That’s why the guys over at Beyond The Brick contacted me to help out with their Kickstarter project that’ll help send them and some film and editing equipment to BrickCon 2015 October 1st-4th. Donate to their cause and you, in turn, will get some awesome swag...and maybe one of these totally cool show rod bubble top dragsters built by yours truly, using some neat-o techniques and totally rad colors. Just check out this link to learn more.
Not perfect...but it's my 1st try...Thanks to Peggy. who assisted me in discovering 'the bubble'. Peggy is a peach of a Flickr Friend and went way beyond her time and energy to help me. Thanks Peggy! ; ))
My favorites from a shoot we did in November 2021 with Kirsty. She is such a sweet, sharp, beautiful, and fun young lady to shoot with. For this shoot, she was in the mood for some photo therapy. Definitely a fun shoot!
If you were never allowed to blow bubbles in your milkshake, I recommend this art activity!
into 5 or six vessels ( jars, yoghurt pots, plastic cups, etc) mix water and a little liquid soap with some paint, fill to around a third. Pop a plastic straw into a chosen colour and blow until bubbles reach over the top, forming a dome, place paper on top to get a print of the bubbles then do it all again, overlapping the shapes until you fill the page with colours :)
Bubble Cherish-a-fied ! hahahaha Thanks for the coolio mirror effect.

A big thanks to my mom for doing this like 100 times, the original goal was to capture the bubble popping, but that did not turn out at all...
Soap bubbles and glycerine make a colourful display.
For a "how to" look up Digital Photography School and search soap bubbles.

Bubbles appearing from raindrops on a puddle. They were really dificult to catch, because they were visible for only couple of seconds and you couldn't really predict that where they would appear next.

Caught a bit of time this afternoon to try to get a better shot for the challenge. This is a close-up of an 18th century pressed glass water goblet. When things didn't go quite right, air got trapped in the blass when it was pressed into the mold that gave the goblet its shape. The result is what you see here. One large air bubble and many smaller ones. What appear to be cracks in the glass are really marls left by imperfections in the mold ore rubs and scratches left when the goblet was removed, still slightly soft. It was a hand made product so each goblet might have some unique marks, depending on the skill and care of the worker. My understanding is that the molds were made of hardwood such as rock maple, and after being used for a while, developed some imperfections. As long as they were not too severe, the mold would not be replaced.
An odd and abnormal menagerie captured in its bubbliciousness by an old Minolta 50mm f2 lens in just the right place at just the right time.
The Royal Canberra show was on last weekend. Hawkers with bubble guns were out and about. The way this turned out reminded of distant places and long ago bubbles.
