False Creek
Vancouver
British Columbia,
Canada
False Creek is a short inlet in the heart of Vancouver. It separates downtown from the rest of the city. It was named by George Henry Richards during his Hydrographic survey of 1856-63. George Richards named False Creek during his survey of the coast in the mid-19th century. While traveling along the south side of the Burrard Inlet, he thought he was traversing a creek; upon discovering his error, he gave the waterway its modern name. Wikipedia
The Granville Street Bridge is an eight lane bridge in Vancouver, British Columbia. It spans False Creek and is 27.4 metres above Granville Island.

This ole shrimping fleet lies in wait for the opening of the inland water shrimping season. The average age of these vessels is quite common & many alike can be found all across the Southern marshes of Louisiana.
Thanks for popping in to take a look.
Comments are welcome and much appreciated.
Have a great new week.........
Shrimping vessel rigged and ready with its trawling rig referred to as the "night trawl" or "butterfly" (wing) nets.
These nets are used in shallow water mainly at night when the shrimp are near the surface of the water.
The rigging consists of two rectangular wing nets, or frames, with 3/4 inch mesh netting. These nets are hinged to the bow of the boat so that the nets can be lowered perpendicularly or raised horizontally to the vessel. This type of net is generally used on small, fast luggers, and Lafitte skiffs, or is mounted to docks or platforms along the bank of the waterway.
Thanks for the visit.
Have a great Monday and new week.

We found this one near the Gulf of Mexico in South Louisiana rigged and ready-to-go.
A bit beaten up.....but no doubt still very seaworthy.
Thanks for dropping in and very much appreciative for the comments......
Have a great beginning to the new week
Bubba "The Gimp" had a very anxious childhood. All the other shrimp cracked jokes at his expense because he was born without the normal five pairs of swimmerets, three pairs of maxiillipeds and only had two pair of walking legs. Thus, the nickname, "The Gimp". As it turned out, the lack of appendages worked in Bubba's favor when he became a model.
Monterey, California 2015
These ole shrimping vessels docked near Dulac, LA always stand at the ready until their captains and crews return for the Inland Water Shrimp Season to open up again.....
Just love to visit the fishing villages down in South Louisiana & check out these rigs.......they're just way too cool to pass up......
Thanks for popping in to take a look.

Photo taken obviously in front of Kemah BoardWalk :) but across the Kemah Bridge in Sea Brook past the fisherman markets at the end of the road. Canon T4i, 18-135mm Kit Lens.
Just a little break from food and colorful duck postings! Here's a boring one.
The lower level (beach level) is where the restaurant is and while the boardwalk level is for the merchandise. Bubba Gump shirt, anyone?
Things to celebrate today:
~Good health and good life
~Good times with friends
~Though super-duper busy at work, thankful I have a job! :)
~Inauguration of the 44th President of the United States of Amercia - President Barack Obama, woohoo!! Yes we can and yes we will!! Well done Pres.Obama and good luck! God bless you and may you lead this nation wonderfully and wisely!
I’m really busy at work and it gets in the way of Flickring hahaha! See you in a few days dear friends, take care and don’t be a stranger! Cheers! :)
Explore Front Page! Thank you! :)
I'm not sure if this one will become a Breckenridge tradition or not, but for the past couple of years we've made our way to Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. for lunch at least once. Despite being a chain, the atmosphere here really fits well with the mountain experience. The menu and food are good as well. It's not Louisiana, but it's about as close as you get at 9,500 feet.
This year Paige picked up a Bubba Gump gift cup filled with ... well ... some blue fruity stuff that she seemed to enjoy. The bottom was filled with various blinking LED lights. That means I'll have to resist the urge to take it apart and see how it works.
Zooming in from Top of the Rock to Times Square New York. A contrast of buildings signs colours and the hustle and bustle of city life.
Love to wander around the shrimping marinas/villages in South Louisiana. Always try to visit when the shrimping season is closed and all of the boats are docked.
Believe it or not..........even though each vessel appears to be cluttered & in shambles.....you can bet that each owner/captain has his own system of organization, and everything is in its proper place.
Thanks for checking this one out......
The visit is much appreciated....and feedback is a bonus !
Have a Great weekend ahead ! ;-)
Dear friend, here are 5 things you should know:
1. Like it or not, we are ALL sinners: As the Scriptures say, “No one is righteous—not even one. No one is truly wise; no one is seeking God. All have turned away; all have become useless. No one does good, not a single one.” (Romans 3:10-12 NLT)
2. The punishment for sin is death: When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned. (Romans 5:12 NLT)
3. Jesus is our only hope: But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. (Romans 5:8 NLT) For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23 NLT)
4. SALVATION is by GRACE through FAITH in JESUS: God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. (Ephesians 2:8-10 NLT)
5. Accept Jesus and receive eternal life: If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9 NLT) But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. (John 1:12 NLT) And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life. (1 John 5:11-12 NLT)
Read the Bible for yourself. Allow the Lord to speak to you through his Word. YOUR ETERNITY IS AT STAKE!
Sincerely,
Someone who cares about you

I had the double pleasure last evening of making my first ever visit to New York City and shooting with one of my favorite photographers JeffB while I was in New Jersey on business.
Expectations often do not live up to reality. I can say that was not the case in my visit last night as the city with Jeff and my time behind the viewfinder were some of the most fun five hours.
