The day after my area received it's first snowstorm of the year, CN 5716 leads westbound train 406, as they head by Passekeag, nearing Hampton, New Brunswick, bringing it's own snow storm with it.

Whale watching trips on fishing boats also include bird watching and bird feeding! Our captain provided chum to attract the birds and this is what happened. Herring Gulls from all over New Brunswick (or so it seemed) arrived, along with Greater, Manx and Sooty Shearwaters. The smaller shearwaters had the sense to stay out of the way, but the Greater Shearwaters got in on the action.

You can see that they watched us as carefully as we watched them, waiting for the next food arrival :)

Built 1893 and operated until 1930 these pilings are the remains of the Brunswick Number 2 fish cannery on the Fraser River's Canoe Pass. By 1917 there were 94 fish canneries on the British Columbia north coast. In 1983 the remains of the Brunswick #2 cannery buildings were demolished for safety reasons.

Many Australian and NZ Flickr friends (and no doubt a few elsewhere) may recognise this house from the 1990 black comedy film, Death in Brunswick, which starred Zoe Carides, Sam Neill and the late John Clarke. I spotted it this morning going to another address in Brunswick so out came the camera. It was overcast and the light really didn't do it justice so I will go back again when it is sunnier.

For those wanting to know more about the film and the house, this link will help: twistedhistory.net.au/2016/05/28/death-in-brunswick/ If you haven't seen the film, I really recommend chasing it up.

Much of Death in Brunswick was actually filmed in Brunswick which is an old working class suburb in the inner north of Melbourne now much gentrified.

This small stream in Brunswick drains into Maquoit Bay that is seen in the distance. I am uncertain if any of these structures are in use. There is a locked cable across the driveway that leads to them.

To the right of the village is the site of the original one, which was destroyed by a landslide.

Norfolk Southern Train 148 coasts gracefully through the Missouri River Bottoms near Brunswick, MO. The sharp-looking Lehigh Valley Heritage Locomotive is in charge of the Eastbound train as the nose pokes into golden morning light. In a few seconds, the train will knock down an approach diverging indication in preparation to enter Main Two at Brunswick. The crew would "kick up their feet" at Sido for a meet with 21T, 112, & 110 before proceeding East toward Moberly.
