Another one bites the dust! The demolition of another of Hartlepool’s finest pubs “The Brus Arms” This fine architecture of the 1950s should be saved and treasured. Hartlepool has a great reputation for knocking down iconic buildings, if we’d only had the vision to protect them, it could have been better than Whitby.
Comhaltas Ceoltoirí Éireann, one of the winners of the 2014 European Citizen's Prize, were presented with their medal of honour at an award ceremony which took place at the Brú Ború theatre, Cashel, Co. Tipperary on Saturday 24th January 2015. This prize is awarded by the European Parliament to citizens or organisations having contributed to promoting better mutual understanding and closer integration between citizens of the Member States; or to facilitating cross border or transnational cooperation contributing to the strengthening of a European spirit. Comhaltas were nominated for the prize by Sinn Féin MEPs Martina Anderson, Lynn Boylan, Matt Carthy and Liadh Ní Riada.

Liatangen bru var nærmest umulig å krysse under perioder av vinteren pga stor snødybde.
