5.9.10

1st, any stupid comments, I'll slit your throat.

After work went and got some flowers for my mom since she is the greatest mom EVER, and put them in this sweet vase from www.browndogwelding.com. She raised me and my 2 brothers while my dad was working for the family, so she's had enough shit from us three to last a lifetime and we still love her! I then told my mom she was going to be in my 365. Ha, easy enough for today's picture.

I gotta start packing for my mini trip tomorrow thru Wednesday. Going up to Tawas area to the Huron National Forest to go morel mushroom hunting and taking pictures. Look it up if you dont know what it is. Well I really gtg, leaving at around 7 tomorrow and have zero things packed.

BTW, 365 pictures for the next 2-3 days will be delayed....2-3 days. Sorry, no internetz in the wilderness.

back story of my stolen gear

Alright. Well. I called a guy from my local car club that I've been part of for a good 12+ years because he worked at a pawn shop in Detroit. I gave him a quick run around of what I had and told him to give me a shout about what was stolen. In the meantime I got all my serial numbers that I could find, boxes, paypal reciepts, etc etc together. Approx. 1 minute before my g/f was going to fax over the info to the police department (What exactly was taken etc) I get a phone call from my source at the pawn shop.... 'Matt? You aren't going to believe this. Your stuff just came in....you go to Tampa recently? Your boarding pass is in the bottom of the bag still....' In awe, cursing and jaw dropped etc. Trying to get my thoughts together I get ahold of the PD again and head down to Detroit. Go fill out paperwork and call my guy at the pawn shop to get my stuff. 'Hey, can I swing by and grab my gear?' Him: 'Yeah, I'm not there, but you can get it....if you hurry up, they guy is there selling us some more stuff right now....' Flat footing my 1990 BMW, 80 mph down side streets, stopping at red lights...then going through them (It's Detroit, practically legal. ) I pull up to pawn shop with barely any brakes left, and me, shaking like a school girl going into the principals office I walk into the pawn shop.

Sadly, the guy wasn't there still. 'I just missed him.' But of course.

So, I had to pay $400 for my gear, because, well, that's all they paid for my 6k+ of gear...sickening. I'm not too worried about the paying of, since I consider it a finders fee, reward, or, I'm lucky I got my shit back.

-Matt

Used 3 lights for this shot.

4.27.10, Josh came over today to clay bar his truck. Well, he showed up and I knew this wasn't going to be easy. We went directly to the car wash and started the vigorous process, to make a long story short another Mopar guy with a standard cab short box Ram showed up. Him and Josh chatted about how cool their trucks were while I washed Josh's truck...damn Mopar guys. After the wash that didn't do much we headed back to my parents house. We spent a good hour or more cleaning up the bugs and tar all over this thing, it was a disaster to say the least. Then onto the clay barring. This took forever and a day, in the middle we had to go get more detailer spray and some Chicago style pizza, yum. About 5-6-7 hours or so later we finally finished. The truck looked a million times better when we were done, and I lectured Josh on why he should keep his truck clean, I think that last about 5 minutes. He'll never clean it again like this after he wakes up sore tomorrow haha. Did I mention it was like 40 degrees out the whole time? Yeah, it was ridiculously cold and non motivating weather. I have to give it Josh though he worked the whole time and we both complained about the same. I thought he'd want to set the truck on fire about 1/2 way. Well he probably did want to, but never mentioned it. The look on my face shows the fun we had.

The photo was a 1 second shot, no photoshopping here. BTW, visit Josh @ www.browndogwelding.com and look at some awesome metal art!
