Originally built in 1906 as a Universalist church, it became the community's first movie theater in 1933 and has continued serving this function as one of the more famous independent art-house cinemas in the region. Brookline, Massachusetts, USA.

Outbound MTA PCC two-car train lead by 3321 is between St Mary's Street and Carlton Street and has just crossed the line from Boston into Brookline MA in 1962. 3321 was built by Pullman in 1951. The top of the Cities Service sign in Kenmore Square can be seen in the distance. The subway portaal is just the other side of St Mary's Street.
2000 Boston Marathon, Brookline, Massachusetts. Waiting for the first runners to arrive. It was cold that year (it's always held in April). The Marathon is the world's oldest annual marathon.

It's incredible to think that today is the Red Sox's first official game of the season and we have a few inches of snow on the ground along icy roads and freezing temperatures! It feels more like February than April.. but then again, we're in Boston. ;)
Today's Tuesday cutie is the Red Sox's newest and cutest fan. He's already borrowing his dad's hat and baseball. I love taking pictures like this because it shows scale: today, he's tiny next to a baseball .. in a few years, he'll be throwing the same ball around with his dad. (14 of 52)

Metropolitan Transit Authority PCC 3322 is outbound for Cleveland Circle in the summer of 1962. It is on Beacon Street in Brookline MA just east of Washington Square. More PCC cars are following. A little sign in the front states "No Stops" so maybe that is why the door is closed. These guys might be boarding the following car. 3322 looks clean and shiny. Double-ended 3322 was acquired by MTA from the Dallas Transit Company in September of 1958. It was built by Pullman Standard in 1945 and was DR&T 601. - from a Kodachrome II slide in my collection, photographer unknown
