Sunday was a great day for a paint job. The weather was warm and the music loud! Stayed there till it got dark. Had to go back today to take the picture :p

The Goshawk has to be one of my favourite birds of prey but it remains particularly elusive with only around 400 breeding pairs in the UK. Whilst numbers have increased the species remains the target of egg collectors and still subject to persecution on some managed estates. This is actually a rescued bird I was fortunate to observe and photograph on private woodland.
This man has seen a lot in his lifetime. Unbending will and fortitude allowed him to succeed in his business. They say about such people - hardened by life.

It was a dry May for most of it. So it was a few weeks of no storms in south central Nebraska. Finally we had a moderate risk but it was for Wyoming & Colorado. Then it was to move due east into western Nebraska. Planned ahead headed west for the event. A moderate risk day with PDS warnings on the supercells that we were chasing that afternoon.
We knew where we wanted to chase and had planned it out perfectly. From Kearney to Scottsbluff NE. From Scottsbluff to Torrington Wy, and then Hwy 85 South. We ended up parked right under a 4g cell tower, close to the Hwy 85 & junction 216 with time to spare. Perfect position, perfect light, and we had perfect cell signal to stream this event live.
Now the official report says this is an E-F0 Tornado. It only lasted about 4 4 1/2 minuets. Approximate path length was 2.8 miles, and max width was 80 yards. It was the first of the day to touchdown in Wyoming.

1 The Pawn Broker
He emits an aura that confuses an approaching enemy, making them suddenly think they're there to pawn off their weapons...doesn't always work, but when it does, the look of confusion on the enemy's face is priceless.
2 Mutt Mongrel
Just your basic animal aggression. If the case he's assigned includes animals or people ( and it likely will ) then a minder MUST be sent with him...Always....wait what's that he's...oh, it's the last minder we sent...dammit dog, back to obedience school for you.
3 The Green Ghost
He emits a powerful aura of fear, that's it, that and he's a freaking annoying whinger. His paper thin bones and wispy body otherwise make him hopeless in a fight.
4 The Sex Bots
Yeah, we all know what their power is.........Comments regarding their work range from "Yeah...we're safe............now" to "OMG I think I may need saving again tomorrow night...@8:00"

Hopdeals Group act as a broker, and will attempt to sell this vehicle and others of its type on for further use. Volvo B10BLE/Wright Renown 5166 (W816 FBW) and VDL SB120/Wright Merit 8263 (NK04 ZKZ) were also collected today.
I spotted this old sign down some of the back streets of the City. Pater & Co have long since ceased trading.
