Lizzy: *turns her head, intending to skewer Lukas with a glare, only to be caught in his steady gaze, sighs* “I’m sorry Mr. Luke. I’m sorry! I didn’t—*face begins to crumple, as she rubs her eyes with her fists* I didn’t mean to be so nasty to you. I just…I just—” *bursts into sobs*
Lukas (resignedly): “Oh, comfort-n-joy. *leans over on his stool, grabs a wad of paper towels, and shoves them at Lizzy while patting her awkwardly on the back* I’d actually prefer the sass to the sobs, so if you’re committed to the crying thing, let me get Simon. He’s better at this stuff.”
Lizzy: *grabs onto Lukas’ shirt sleeve, sniffling into her wad of paper towels* “I don’t want Mr. Simon. I want you.”
Lukas (surprised): “You do?”
Lizzy: “Uh-huh. I like you better.”
Lukas (incredulously): “You do?”
Lizzy: “Uh-huh.”
Lukas: “Well, erm…*squares off his shoulders determinedly*...okay then. Tell me what’s wrong and we’ll see if I can fix it.”
Lizzy: “You can’t, unless you can find my dad and make him want me again.” *snuffles brokenheartedly into her soggy lump of towels*
Lukas: *cringes, looking up to the heavens, obviously asking for some sort of guidance* “You couldn’t start with the easy stuff, could you, kid? Like a boy teasing you at school. I could’ve just snagged the little jackass, put the fear of God into him, and called it a day.” *lifts Lizzy onto a stool and waits for her to continue*
Lizzy: *face still buried, plaintively* “Why did he leave me, Mr. Luke? What did I do wrong to make him stop loving me? He was the best dad in the entire world, and then he just left. I thought he’d come back this Christmas. I don’t know why, but I did. I miss him so much! Even though I’m too old for Santa, every Christmas since dad left I ask…because all I want is…but he hasn’t. He doesn’t even call or send a card…*hiccups* nothing!”
Lukas: *places a couple of fingers on Lizzy’s forehead, gently pushing her head up to meet his gaze* “Look, I don’t know your dad or the particulars of the situation, but whatever the reason he thought he had for leaving, it didn’t have a damn thing to do with you doing anything wrong.”

Armer Mini. Heute ließ der versehentlich ein bisschen seines Geldes in einen Gulli fallen. Er wollte nachschauen, wieviel er noch hat, um ein Eis zu kaufen, stolperte und dabei fiel das Geld runter. Ich muss nicht sagen, wie traurig Mini darüber war. Daher kamen Danbo und ich zu einer guten Lösung: Wir luden ihn einfach auf einen großen Eisbecher ein. Trotzdem ist Mini noch immer untröstlich.
Poor Mini. Today he accidentially dropped a bit of his money into a drain. He wanted to look how much he has left to buy an ice cream, floundered and then dropped some coins in there. I don't have to say how sad he was. So Danbo and I came up with a good solution. We invited Mini to a big sundae. But still Mini is a bit brokenhearted.
Yuri: “Lukas told me you are having your party at the club where you normally hold band practice. What precisely do you boys have planned?”
Kumi: *arches brow* “Yes. Do tell, do tell.”
Danny: “Well, I dunno for sure, since I’m not planning the thing, but I expect it to include…*impromptu drumroll on the counter* naked boobies and lap dances: debauchery at its finest!”
Girls: *fix Danny with stares that promise an untimely (and messy) demise*
Yuri (icily): “Pardon me?”
Kumi: *slaps hand on counter* “Frickin’ heeeeell, no!”
Candy: *buries her face in Danny’s side, wails* “But I thought my boobies were the only ones you wanted to see! You’re going to have strippers! How c-c-could you?” *sniffles brokenheartedly*
Danny (alarmed): “Whoa! I was just jokin’ around! It’s gonna be guys only. No strippers, I swear! They’re not worth the pain and suffering you’d inflict on us, anyway. We’re probably gonna drink some beer, play some cards, watch some TV—you know, guy shi--”
Yuri: *raises her eyebrow threateningly*
Danny: “Uh, stuff. Guy stuff.”
Candy: *pulls face out of Dan’s side, grins sunnily* “Yeah, that’s what I thought, but I was just making sure.”
Danny: *disgusted look* “Dirty trick.”
Candy: *holds up her hand, points to her engagement ring* “I’ve got you wrapped around my finger tighter than this ring, and don’t you ever forget it, Q-tip.”
Danny (softly): “Is that a fact.”
Candy (smugly): “Yurp.”
Danny: *quickly hoists Candy up, turns her upside down, dangles her head inches above the floor*
Kumi: *chortles delightedly*
Candy: “Well, this is embarrassing.”
Yuri (scandalized): “Daniel, be careful! You will hurt her!”
Danny: *withering look, flips Candy upright and sets her gently on her feet* “Don’t talk like a moron, Yuri. I’d never hurt her; I was just proving a point.”
Candy: “That you’re about as evolved as a Cro-Magnon?”
Danny: “Yeah, but I’m your Cro-Magnon.”
Candy (sappily): “Yeah.”
Danny & Candy: *proceed to canoodle in the most nauseating manner*
Kumi: *clutches stomach* “Blech. I think the dozen quiches I just ate are ‘bout to come back up.”

Chloe (mildly): "Know what? I'd appreciate it if you didn't belittle my feelings for you, Z. It's so patronizing. Besides, you're talkin' straight up b.s. about this 'romanticize' stuff. I've seen you make an ass out of yourself countless times. Hell, you barfed on my shoes, dude! And I was wearing sandals at the time! What's 'romanticized' about that, ding-a-ling?!"
Z: *winces* "I'm never going to live that one down, huh? Fair enough. At least you're talking to me again. So, let's get to it."
Chloe: "There's nothing to 'get to'. You don't love me in that way. I've always known it."
Z (softly): "But, I do love you."
Chloe: "Yeah, yeah."
Z: "What can I say to make it better, Chlo? Because seeing you like this is tearing me up."
Chloe: "Tell me the truth. Was there ever a chance for you and me? Do you think one day you would have looked at me and seen more than a friend?"
Z: *studies Chloe's face intently*
Chloe: *turns pink*
Z: "I can't say with absolute certainty because I don't know the man I'll be 'one day', but my gut says...no. I'm sorry."
Chloe: *weak smile* "Don't be. That's what I needed to hear. I like your Emma. She's one of the kindest people I've ever met."
Z (tenderly): "I know. She reminds me of you in that way."
Chloe: *throws arms around Z and bursts into tears*
Z: *holds Chloe close and whispers* "I'm sorry, Chlo. So, so sorry..."
Chloe: *sobs brokenheartedly*

I feel sorry for the homeless people in Manila. I brokenheartedly shoot them not to make waves in photography but to the society to see it. There's a lot of them in the vicinity of Quiapo, Escolta, old Manila, through the passageway of the Pasig River (dumi din at mayroon pa kaming nakitang tumatae sa totoo lang at di ko lang kinuha na nakasabit pa siya sa bakod hihihi). We walked from Quiapo to Plaza Cruz, to Avenida and crossed the famous Jones Bridge, the Pasig River, the Feati bank and to the Post Office Building. Wake up GMA administrations and to help these people who are really in need. Thanks Lazandre/George for bringing me here. I felt so lucky I have a better life in America.

I’ve come to realize that this is one of my favorite movies. I love Jenna and her full spirit and her youthfulness and smile and how she laughs and is fascinated by the smallest things. And I love her brokenheartedness over all she’s done wrong. I also love Matty - and how he absolutely adores Jenna. The kind of relationship that they have in this movie is so incredibly sweet. Even though they are 30, they are so in love, and have such a youthful type of love - swinging on the swings, going on walks, eating Razzles, giggling, dancing together. I adore it.
I’m sure you’ve heard it said that relationships here can be a representation between God and us. For example, a father’s love for his child. Friend’s deep love for each other. A husband and wive’s most intimate love that they’ll ever know on earth. And if this type of love between husband and wife - this spinning, smiling, cotton candy, dancing type love is a small representation of love, then imagine the Father’s love for us (even though his love is too big to even fully picture). And imagine what Heaven will be like.
