Broadcasting in Tokyo has been done by Tokyo Tower for a long time. Now, a new broadcasting tower is being built in Oshiage. The 610.58m height tower is called "Tokyo Sky Tree". The construction will be finished at the end of 2011.

Broadcasting House, Portland Place
Architect Val Meyer designed it in Portland stone, appropriately! It was completed in 1932, and was one of the first purpose-built broadcast buildings in the world.
The historic "Funkhaus" (broadcasting center) of the publick WDR radio and TV system is an architectural marvel of the 1950s. It sports window panes which have been designed by Ludwig Gies. This once famous artist also created the eagle which graced the first parliament hall in Bonn.
