A historic marker describes the history of the decommissioned Voice Of America Relay station in Bethany, Ohio
Building in progress on the new BBC Media City, opposite the Imperial War Museum. This is a long exposure using a dark ND filter to get a smoother reflection in the water.
The vignette isn't artificial this time: it's the result of using the ND filter with a wide angle and a narrow aperture.

"Capitol Broadcasting Company founder A. J. Fletcher created the WRAL Azalea Gardens as a service to the community. The Gardens opened to the public in 1959, and surround the television studios on Western Boulevard in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Fletcher loved azaleas and enjoyed finding new varieties. He decided to share that passion with the general public, personally overseeing the installation of a thousand azaleas to create the original Gardens.
The Gardens have expanded in size and plant varieties over the years, but Fletcher’s intentions of “Paying a tribute to beauty for beauty’s sake” hasn’t changed. The Gardens are lovingly maintained by CBC Corporate Property Management with active input from Fletcher’s grandson, CEO Jim Goodmon."

Streaming LIVE video from a Mobile Phone
The video cameras in newer cell phones have become live-reporting tools, courtesy of new services that send moving images over the Internet as they're being captured. These services include Qik, Kyte, ComVu and Flixwagon.
When paired with certain cutting-edge handsets, such as Nokia's N95, live video journalism becomes possible. Anyone can become an eyewitness, capture those first steps, or whip up their own streaming video blog. 2008 is the year of Personal Mobile Broadcasting.
On this edition, we talk with Pioneer video blogger Steve Garfield who ran coverage of Super Tuesday in Boston using this technology. He shows us how he did it.

Frogs in the Dry Creek desert may sound like an oxymoron but here hundreds and perhaps thousands find an oasis in Eastern Oregon. Biologists recently spent a week catching and releasing spotted frogs. Think of it like going to the doctor's office for a check-up where you get weighed and measured. The one difference is biologists add a tracking Personal Identity (PI) tag behind the shoulders of each frog before sending it back to live several more years. Here, in Dry Creek, biologists have been studying spotted frogs for the past 12 years and have some interesting discoveries.
