Thank you in advance for your views, comments, and faves. They are much appreciated!
These are very difficult days, the arsonists have caused immense damage, thanks to the firefighters for their great work.
I thought I’d show some love to one of the most used but least celebrated pieces of equipment in my photographic toolbox, my LED lights!
The building in the centre, of course. The Fire Brigade in my village is a voluntary organisation - and it really is in (!) the village, ready on shortest notice. Many other essential institutions are not. For example, the next police station is many miles away. So is the nearest bank etc. Somehow, we do manage nevertheless. This is a civilised place.
THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT AND FAVES
ON THE REACTIONS I WILL TRY TO RESPOND BACK

The eagle is over 9 meters tall and is made of roughly hewn stone. It was designed by architect and sculptor Erwin Friedrich Baumann from Faulensee.
This stone eagle (Simplon Adler) on the Simplon Pass was designed and built by Swiss soldiers during World War II. The eagle looks towards Italy.
As a symbol of vigilance, the statue was created to commemorate the "Guard on the Simplon" during World War II (1940-1945).
The following text is inscribed on the monument:
"In the freedom of the mountains it stands, a large memorial of hard granite:
a memorial of faithful service, a lasting reminder to be prepared and awake for our freedom."
One of my favourite parts of photography is taking pictures of people out in the streets, I like to see how many people make eye contact, there are many, and this picture is no exception. This group of people appeared from nowhere and believe it or not I did not see them arrive, when the next train came along and went they had all disappeared, as if by magic. Taken on Baker Street underground station, London, on a Flickr meet up day with like-minded photographers....!

‘Their performances are kept simple, mainly very slow moving, focussed, meditative movements carried out in complete silence, producing a very powerful effect. Spectators gain a very strong impression of the depth of feeling and non-violence of the climate movement.’
The Brigade often join up with ‘Extinction Rebellion’ demonstrators marching against ‘Climate Change’. This day they were on their own.
Red Rebel Brigade symbolises the common blood we share with all species,
That unifies us and makes us one.
As such we move as one, act as one and more importantly feel as one.
We are unity and we empathise with our surroundings, we are forgiving
We are sympathetic and humble, compassionate and understanding,
We divert, distract, delight and inspire the people who watch us,
We illuminate the magic realm beneath the surface of all things and we invite people to enter in, we make a bubble and calm the storm, we are peace in the midst of war.
We are who the people have forgotten to be!
Red Rebel Brigade was devised by Doug Francisco and Justine Squire from Bristol’s Invisible Circus for the Extinction Rebellion Spring uprising April 2019 in London
Even without any knowledge of the Dutch language you can guess what "Brandweer" means. Mark how the iron capitals are beautifully crafted in a classic font, perhaps art deco style.
Excellent L&P to add to the Lines and Planes series.
It's about surprising compositions in the everyday, a special view of buildings, interiors ... lines made abstract.
We Want To Live - UK Rebellion 2020
This is the first day of the 10 days protest rebellion across UK.
The Red Rebel Brigade is an international performance artivist troupe dedicated to illuminating the global environmental crisis and supporting groups and organisations fighting to save humanity and all species from mass extinction.

I have been chasing a screech owl around a certain park in Bucks County for over a week, and my pictures look like rorschach tests. Luckily, a month ago I took this shot in NJ as part of a photo workshop I'll be posting more about in the coming days. Saludos everyone!

Ironically, this shot was taken a few seconds after the picture called "frantic." Now they've formed a chemical trail to carry the exposed eggs to a safer spot in there nest.
Nice find in the old paper mill … with a nice bit of natural lighting shining upon it.
It was actually pretty dim here, but everything is relative.
A little vignetting and edge-burning in the digital darkroom, and vwahlah — theatrical spotlight effect through rotted roof on antique fire extinguisher amid rusty machinery and crumbling bricks.
