Recap: the collab was great, the build is 80% James with me helping out with layering and the church, it was fun and got lots of good stuff.

Thanks, Victor! Overseer badge brick courtesy of Simon Liu, Vault Dweller badge courtesy of James, and both printed by EclipseGRAFX

The decapitated vault dwellers will soon be revived.

Brickworld 2017 was absolutely awesome! This year I actually went to some of the events (instead of just sitting at my table all day) and man I glad I did them. Lights out was stunning and superb, the Brickly presentation was amazing, and just some great events. I got to talk to some people that were just so kind and nice about everything that I'm so glad I got to meet them. Out of my 3 years of displaying, this was definitely the best one!

(Brickworld 2024)

This build tells so many of the strangest stories. It’s officially been exactly 2 years since the third picture was taken on November 27th, 2022. I’m not sure which story I want to tell first. Whether it makes the most sense to use this build to chronicle what is surely some version of my “Dark Ages” or a testament to the hobby I can’t stop coming back to.

While this build clearly had more lives than it should have (three ‘final’ picture shoots, my first convention, a broken dream of it’s initial plan, it’s one-flextube tree still standing 650 days after it’s first construction, or even how it’s been hidden away in a shoe box for far too long), this build has given me far more than I would have ever expected.

I didn’t title it “Sanctuary” recently, I came up with that on a whim before Brickworld 2024 as I had much bigger plans for this build. Somehow that title has become the only “constant” surrounding this build. Not only have my emotions swung drastically on how I feel towards this build, but it has also tested my emotions around photography and social media. This hobby is my sanctuary, it’s where I’ve built so many friendships, cultivated countless skills and spent wayyyy too many hours…doing something I love. This hobby has helped me navigate through the greatest reshuffling of priorities I have ever experienced in my life. I moved across the country for school, then moved back closer to home to another school. I have chased athletic and academic goals I could have only dreamed of, experienced landscapes and leadership I never thought possible. I’ve found someone I’m pretty damn confident I could spend forever with, I’ve grown as a person in so many ways and I have opened up so many paths along the way.

Yet still, through all of that chaos, I can’t help but dream about what I could build, what worlds I could escape into with this hobby.

If you’re reading this, I am so thankful for you, thank you for being a part of something genuinely amazing.

This is just a small island I made as part of the RebelLUG Scarif collab we did for Brickworld this year.

Uhh title for moc? Well its going to be in a diorama for brickworld, but each thing should have a name right? Hmm....what to call him

Hey everyone!

I built this for Brickworld Chicago which just took place over this past weekend, and it was a blast! I got to meet a bunch of great people, and the quality of models people brought this year was really high.

Anyways, this is a model of the building the convention took place in.

It also got nominated for best youth creation (17 and under builders)

BrickWorld Chicago is a wrap! We're all super sad that its over but I can easily say this was the best year yet! Met some amazing builders I've admired for years, hung out with friends I havent seen in a while and was nominated for 4 awards including BrickWorld Master.

This was also the first year that I lead a round table that included alot of females in the LEGO Community. We talked about how to stand out from the boys in a male dominant hobby; the challenges of being a female at a major event like BrickWorld and how to overcome it. I also led the first Painting class where we painted pictures of minifigures on canvas! Its been crazy busy the past few days and we've all barely slept but it was well worth it!

Cant thank my LITLug enough for an amazing time, see you next year! #Squadgoals #letsgetdickered

Thanks to Jessica Rigney for the shot!

First image of my Brickworld Fort Wayne builds. I won't be able to post official pictures of my Giganta build until next week; bricklink shipments came in late, so it's using some borrowed parts at the moment (and I couldn't get pictures a head of time).

Impressions from Brickworld 2015.

Hello everybody,

I recently got back from Brickworld Chicago, and had an awesome time, to say the least. I met so many cool , kind, and inspirational people! I enjoyed every moment, but, MAN! It is tiring! Those who I met are tagged, I can't wait for next year!

On another note, thank you so much to my sponsors, as most of the loot pictured is from you! Victor, it was nice meeting you, and hopefully you can sponsor us next year!

I also want you, the community, to tell me what you want to see from me! I have some ideas, and want to stray away from small, insignificant builds. I really want to become a better builder in the next year, and I could use a mentor! If interested, please FM me! I would be eternally grateful!

What you guys see here is a portion of what I'll be bringing to Brickworld next week! Along with a few surprises that have yet to be revealed...

Super stoked to see old friends, and explore a new city for a couple days before the con!

Sound off if you're gonna be attending the show!!

My RMS-179 GM I at Brickworld Chicago. now with lights :-)

So Brickworld MI was a blast! I got to see some great displays and meet some great people. Hopefully next year it will be bigger, and I'll be able to display ;)

So here's my fabulous loot that I was able to purchase while I was there: Some Citizen Brick and some Clone Army Customs stuff. Along with a few Classic LEGO parts.

All in all BWMI was a wonderful experience!

So yesterday I officially registered for Brickworld 2017!

This will be my 3rd year displaying and my 5th year attending, I am so excited to hopefully meet a lot of you guys at the convention. So here is the rundown for the MOCs I will be displaying:

Batcave:

So Obviously I will be bringing my batcave to the convention considering ahow much time (and money) I've spent on it. It's around 50%, so hopefully I will be able to complete it in time, this will be also my main MOC.

Mario Amiibo

So the lego 30th anniversary Mario amiibo will be coming to Brickworld as well. I really wanted something else to bring to Brickworld other than the Batcave, so I decided that bringing this would cool to display because is looks pretty bad-ass. I also picked this because it was small, doesn't take that much time to build, and very cost efficient.

So that pretty much wraps it up. If you are going to Brickworld Chicago, come up to me and talk to me, I would love to meet some of you guys in person.

Yep, bye.

.... and we're back!

And with a bang... this has definitely been the weirdest, hardest, Brickworld ever: the first since the Pandemic (or as Casey's pastor put it, the 'blip'), family issues, and a lot of LEGO quality issues, it was a bit of a struggle... but the People. The builds. The food ... made it all worthwhile.

I always struggle with these posts, how do I properly convey the feelings from the past week ? the fun, generosity and caring that people showed? ... there's so much ... but a few things will really touched my heart:

Casey - spent a few days with my BrotherBley/AccountaBuildaBuddy helping him finish his beautiful monastery.

Cube Games - thank you InnovaLUG, OrphanLUG, Bricknerd, RebelLUG, EuroBricks for spending some time hanging out and doing some fun challenges (post to follow) and of course Markus - my partner in crime, I have no words on the impact you've had and the mischief achieved

That concert was GARBAGE (and Tears for Fears) - Nick - that was so great thank you for kidnapping me :)

RebelLUG - Absitonia was ... utterly insane. It's been awhile since I've been so impressed with a collaborative build with that amount of detail

Orphanage - Dan nailed it and such sweet and personal builds form us all.

Micah - the father's day card. You're going to make me cry man.

Dave - #BeTheDave - the true Spirit of Brickworld.

Absconding with Jonah's Best vignette trophy, getting a judges award for ... something? we're not really sure what it was for.

.... I could go on and on about all the new people I meet, the old friends reconnected, the builds, so many builds, and may builds I didn't get a good chance to dissect, Tim finally getting his due .... ack.

I'll just leave it off here - and see you next year everyone.

(I missed a few goodies, I can't find them >.>)

Round-up photo of the souvenirs that I brought back from Brickworld 2017. These conjure up so many fond memories of friends, follies, and fun at BW17. It was great to see so many familiar faces from last year, and make so many new friends this year.

BW18 is marked on my calendar! Hope to see you there!

(PS - I also wrote up a quick BW17 wrap-up for The Manifesto if anyone is interested. And if you haven't been to Keith's blog yet, you are missing out. It's a great read... I mean, despite my article)

Mr B's Building by Mark Bumpus.

Marks MOCs are incredible, both in detail and in the engineering that goes into the moving parts and lighting. I always look forward to his next creation.
