The view at Porth Wen Brickworks

First sighted on April 8th, this photo was taken the following day, on the 9th. I had been hoping for better photo ops of the yellow rumped warbler returnee since then, but did not have any so I am posting these now. Still hoping to see much more of this warbler as well as many others as they migrate back for the spring and summer season.

not quite the vibrant summer yellow plumage yet, but this american goldfinch is definitely getting ready for the season attire :-)

Spring has been so slow to emerge this year, but the red winged blackbirds are among the earliest returnees regardless. The males precede the females and the air is filled with their trilling as they stake out territory

The outbuilding behind St. Marys in Burlington New Jersey caught my eye while I was walking through the cemetery. Most people look at the beautiful church. I'm in the back checking out the brickwork on their shed.
