Last week, along the Waterfront Park shoreline in Bath, an expansive field of thinning and fractured ice sheets shattered the sounds akin to breaking china dishes, wind-driven pass stranded layered ice structures that had been pushed up on shore, the latter with the exception of a few icicles, remained substantially dry in the still freezing air, giving the expiring winter a few more breaths.

Tristan would not leave, So I started taking pictures of him and he grabbed the camera out of my hand and snapped photos of me.

At Kiwanis park, the ice is melting, but hasn't "broken" yet.

Farther north, the ice isn't in chunks like this. Right by New Jersey Ave, it was all in big chunks!

Seeing the mallards start to pair off, is a sure sign of spring around here!
