An over night stay in Whitstable was followed by a walk along the beach in the morning. Ending was breakie in The Windy Cafe.

The Old Neptune is perfectly placed on the beach as Caroline and myself strolled along in the sometimes lovely light.

Mum's birthday and an early start for me. Beautiful sunrise, then a visit to the fudge factory in Coniston, viewed a few of Tim Dove's images and a proper breakie in Ambleside. Perfect 80th b'day for mum.

Another image from the long awaited photoshoot with a good friend at this lovely location. Caroline and myself met Mike here just after 5am in the morning. The location and the company didn't disappoint. This image was taken a little later in the the morning as the sun rose and burnt away the mist that was laying in the dyke. As the mist lifted it revealed lovely clear calm reflection of this magnificent building . We even managed to catch some mist.

A great mornings photography was finished by catch up and breakie at a local cafe :~)

Early start to be at Winchelsea before sunrise. Very cold but lovely light. Thank you to Jimbo for picking Caroline and myself up on the way. Bumping into John with the same idea. Breakie afterwards finished a short but fun morning out.

Another early start with Rob. Tide was coming in and we initially opted for a small sandy bank by the sea defence about level with the Lightouse. Had to retreat after only a few minutes because of how fast the tide was coming in. Easy to get caught out here and further up the coast at Meols.

Wind was Baltic so I was happy to have got my shot before a warm and a Wetherspoons breakie, cheers Rob!

Back from an awesome long weekend camping in North Wales, shooting various landscapes and abandoned and forgotten Welsh chapels.

This is the Lone Tree on Llyn Padarn, Llanberis and it was our first stop, arriving at 2:30am! We had some time to kill before first light so set up and relaxed with a beer taking it all in. It's easy to see why this is a pretty popular spot, it's stunningly tranquil and peaceful- Even more so as luckily we were the only ones there!

We shot several compositions from blue hour, then were treated to a spectacular sunrise bursting with colour and finally some shots once the sun had risen of which this 60S long exposure was one. After that it was on to the infamous Petes Eats café for some breakie before heading to our next location North of the Snowdonia range.

I got about 6 hours sleep over the 72hr period and arrived home cut, bruised, covered in bites and absolutely shattered and I love it and cannot wait for the next trip over, Wales is a stunning country! : )

This is unique 18 century thatched cottage! A great place for breakie !... Fire lit ! Wonderful friendly staff ! Decorated as old as you like ! Odd tables & chairs ! Note the singer stand from the old sowing machine! Being used as a table ! Rustic love !

Eastern Spinebill.

Spotted this little native bird zooming through a gravillea shrub, looking for breakfast and spreading the good pollen around.

Native to east coast Australia.

Sometimes called the Australian hummingbird as it similarly flaps wings incredibly fast to hover at flowers when it's not convenient to purch. Has a cousin on the west coast called the Western Spinebill (of course!).

So I have this photo of a dragon. Rly. I have been thinking on how I wanted to process him. (It's a 'he') Yesterday it hit me. Dragon. Dragan. Heh. For those of you not familiar with the term / name, this is Draganizing.

This is stolen bokeh and dragon, btw. While wandering through Burbank last week *shudder* I happened upon this little patio near a coffee house. It was between two business and in front of a third, with a gate on the street side. The gate was open. Need I say moar? I dashed in and snapped some shots. I stole this bokeh. Shhhhhh. Also? Gateh - for another day.

Pssss, hey, buddy, you've got something stuck between your teeth

Also? I sneakered this one in when you were distracted by Smiley up there

Barmouth, Wales

Due to the very low cloud my intended spot for shooting the sunrise had been wiped out and the cafe we have breakie at being closed until 9am, we went for an explore.

I took a single track road just outside of Barmouth that lead up into the hills beyond. We followed the road until it turned into a mud track and decided it was best to stop. I got out and followed the public foot path up over a small hill and passed what was left of a sheep that had met a particularly grizzly end. As I walked over the crest of the hill this wonderful scene greeted me.

Unfortunately, alot of the detail in the cloud around the sun was lost when I converted it for the web but I still like it.

9 shot HDR (-4/+4) in photomatix and converted in CS5.

Thanks for looking

Taken at Oak Park, South Cronulla NSW as part of our now regular weekly Flickr meet for a group that I am an Administrator for, The Sutherland Shire.

We arrived down at the park at 6am, the sun was not due to rise till 6:59am, as soon as I left home, some 10 minutes earlier, the clouds began to drop what felt like everything they had in them, it rained cats and dogs for the next 30 minutes.

Four of us had turned up, Ray, Tony Jason and myself, with a few extras along for the ride. As the sun came up it was still raining a little, but not enough to deter all of us. It ended up being a great morning and once again ended up with a nice coffee and breakie, not at Gloria Jeans.

A really foggy, dark and wet morning brought a group of friends and fellow photographers together after the Christmas Break. No detail in the sky, light drizzle and dull light didn't dampen spirits.

A good time had by all and breakie was well deserved :~)

After all the glorious Pre dawn and sunrise colour I decided it was time for some monochromatic loveliness.......you know how much I love my moody mono. This image was made the same morning as the Boggle Hole images after we had been into Whitby for a well earned breakie.......a cracking breakie it was too.

Highly recomended for breakie Bluebottles Brasserie, Woolgoolga NSW, not cheap, but a wonderful way to start the day

We had a fast moving wettish snowstorm the other day as Moby and I headed out on our evening walk. Moby decide he wanted to sit near the river and watch the little ice floes float down river. He didn't care that he was getting covered by snow.

The leash stays on when we are by the river at this time of year as the ice is not safe. The river actually flows just along the brush that is growing beyond Moby. If he ventured out on the snowy section he could end up breakiing through the ice under the snow.
