Snowy egret attracting attention at 40 Acre Lake in Brazos Bend State Park

We came upon this group of White Ibis feeding near sunset at Brazos Bend State Park

Fog starting to lift. Brazos Bend State Park, SE Texas

I spotted the hawk waiting on the powerline, watching its prey. So, I had my camera ready. What I didn't realize that I have not yet set my camera to autofocus in continueous mode. This was the only shot in focus.

Brazos Bend state park is a great place for bird watching. I actually missed two opportunities on the same day.

Since I don't have enough focus length to frame this shot. I have to edit it digitally. I first cropped it to make the hawk fit more tightly to the frame. Then I sharpened to show more detail of the feather.

I seemed to be doing this a lot. I always tried to shoot for the perfect frame and exposure at the first time. But, it rarely happened.

I will try harder.

Setting sun reflected in his eye. Not sure what I think of these two.

500 mm with 1.4X TC, 1/100, f5.6, 800 ISO, Eval Meter + 1 stop.
