This 7-spot ladybird blundered onto my hand (there were loads in the garden today) and I watched it climb up my finger and launch itself.
Lovely warm day. Heard the first bats of the year in the evening.

IMG_4024: We were walking along the harbor when a storm rolled in. We made it to the truck just as the first rain reached the shore, and sat in the car watching for a bit.

this is an unusual flower from a cockspur coral tree* in the mall park. up close the flower is like a small pitcher with a spout where the stamens come out to expose the claw-like pistils. odd but flaming hot!

Dawn's hues at Lake McDonald in Apgar Village, Glacier National Park, Montana. The Village was well-kept but pleasantly old-time, with a general backdrop of gleeful kids and families having a great time. Could have been a scene from the 1950s.
