This caught my attention,I assume the branch had broken off in some storm. Wonderful detail and textures on the bark and the torn off strands of wood.

I was walking through Mark Burnham Park early Tuesday evening and the sun was catching a network of small branches just the right way to create the illusion of a massive diagonal spider web through the trees. I have the benefit of having been there, and know what I should see, so hopefully you can also see the illusion in this shot. Wishing you all a gorgeous green Thursday!

Even though it looks like it, there is NO frost on the willow

'Salix Chaenomeloides' is the Latin name for giant pussy willow. It is native to Japan but adapts well to a wide range of garden situations including sandy, average and even quite moist soil. The branches bear rosy red catkins.

Branch drops closer to water as heron walks further out along branch . The sinking branch allows the heron to silently get closer to his prey in the water. This is one smart green heron

…… One from the shoreline of Derwent water - drunk a gallon or two from the lake in its time this beauty! Did you know that a mature tree will drink 11,000 gallons of water a year!!! (SEE LINK BELOW) Is that not a good reason to plant more?!? Happy tree Tuesday to all on Flickr, Alan:-) HTMT.…….

Georgia Northeastern Railroad GP20 #7562 brings three loaded marble hoppers up the switchback on the former Georgia Marble Railroad branch. Once they clear the switch theyll shove up the 4.5% grade into Tate. It was always a sure bet to get the first generation EMD's on the branch since the GP38's were deemed too heavy. After the first gen EMD's were purged from the roster by Patriot Rail in 2017 they tried upgrading the branch to support the GP38's but didnt really make it much better. Derailments are pretty common here albeit nothing major fortunately.
