I was invited to join this group - they spend two weeks in the field in summer - I could only manage three days - however it was amazing. This was the friday afternoon after filling in the test pit - bubbles and James and Rik had the brainwave to try with Rik's e-cig. smoke filled bubbles were magic
Macro Mondays Theme: Games People Play
Finally decided which shot to use after taking the shot that I had a brainwave about whilst trying to sleep last night! I originally remembered about Pass The Bomb the day after the anything that ticks theme and was gutted I hadn't thought about it in time. At least I can use it for this theme!
Pass the Bomb is a word game where you have to make words which include letters printed on the card before the bomb goes off. It ticks for a random amount of time and if you're holding the bomb when it goes off, you lose the game!
Thanks for looking, HMM!
I was so stuck for ideas for my 365 today, I tried about 10 different things and nothing worked until I got this brainwave...it started out as a fish jumping out of the water...but it turns out I can't draw fish :)
The week before last I was in Cornwall for my first holiday in ages. We arrived and had a little walk along a quay close to our accommodation. There wasn't much about until my wife spotted this dunlin on the shore as we were walking back to the car. I got my camera out and was trying to get a low angle but the sun was directly on the shore meaning the light was really challenging and the bird was also working it's way away from me. I then had a brainwave, off came my shoes and I waded out into the sea putting the sun behind me. Interestingly the bird instantly became more obliging coming much closer to me than when I was on the shore
What started out as a "Sunrise morning", quickly turned into an "is it even worth being here" morning, with extremely dense fog and constant rain... And then we had a brainwave... WATERFALLS!!
Did a lot of hiking today, causing tired legs and an ouchy little toe, but totally worth it.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to view, comment, and fave my photo. It’s really appreciated. 😊
This morning I had this brainwave.. yes it's true... :-)
I thought.. wow wouldn't it be cool to have a shell shot with a hummer in it. Now here is the tricky part.. how to get them to fly close to the shell????
II decided to put the feeder on the railing and after about 50 shots.. yes it's true... I got this one.
I am now able to get so close to them .. I am about 1/2 foot away.
I promise the hummer shots will stop soon.... but for now I am pretty mesmerized by them.
explored... thanks everyone....

A drawing intended as a handmade card for someone but which has been delayed by my hitting what an author would call 'writer's block'. I should have drawn something like this back in the summer but couldn't pick a subject. Finding solace in reading I had the brainwave to draw some timber framed buildings and send the card for Christmas. Other things then got in the way but at least the drawing is nearly done. Better late than never? Drawn with a Pentel 0.5mm HB pencil on Lanton watercolour paper.
There is no particular story to this photo. I have written on a small piece of paper next to me "Stormtrooper headphones". The result of a late night brainwave, which is generally the way in which these ideas enter my head.
For such a simple photo, I certainly seem to have spent an inordinate amount of time making it. If you'd like to see the out-takes, they're here : www.flickr.com/photos/balakovsetup/4354084416/
This is a very small grandstand believe it or not, seats 4 people, 8 if your into snuggling the person next to you. Its situated on the edge of a running track and seems totally inadequate of anything really. Thats why i love it, its so pointless yet someone had a brainwave and thought the domain needed a 4 seater stand for some reason. I'd like to meet that person and shake their hand! I bet they have a great sense of humour!!

20201207_9604_7D2-100 Santa earing (342/366)
My wife came out celebrating Christmas this morning, wearing her work uniform and a pair of Santa earings. After she had left I suddenly had the brainwave to use a pic of one earing as my Macro Mondays challenge shot. I then had to wait till she returned home.

Walk and Let Love Bloom
A poem by Peter S. Quinn
Walk and let love bloom
...In two peaceful hearts
There inside is much room
Where a feeling once starts
A bouquet of balloons
To faraway mountain tops
In spring fresh afternoons
Where a brainwave never stops
Stop and listen to a heart
As it boom booms away
It’s where all love will start
Making colors out of gray
And the wishful roads along
In a heart that wonders still
With a beat to beat mood song
That every love shall fulfill
Walk and let the bridge find
Every aspect of our explore
Leave your worries behind
Drift your mind to lover’s shore
Like the birds that wing free
To their waiting new spring
Same to you it then must be
If your feelings of love do sing
1896AD, Willseden Green, London, England. The original 'X Factor' takes in a marque with six competitors, who have to sing while holding a pig.
This competition was the 'harebrained brainwave of an auctioneer called CF Rowley'. Evidently he wanted to increase his sales and came up with the idea to create a crowd. It worked.
And the prize for the signers, the pig itself. Who won it? We don't seem to know. More can be read on the BBC website, which was shared with me by Brick Spartan. Minifignick choose this scene for today's post.
This is part section of my contribution to the 'London 1875 - Capital of an Empire' display by Brick To The Past which will be at STEAM and Brick.com
A peaceful sunset over the textured rocks at White Pocket. This image has spent some extensive time on the back burner, slowly sizzled by the setting sun. Feel free to look around and soak up the warmth just like I do now in the winter, the season when the US northeast becomes uninhabitably cold. Only the hope for northern lights keeps me here. Come on, sun, flare at us and throw some powerful CME our way!

Morphecore Prototype by Daito Manabe
b. 1976, Japan
Lives and works in Tokyo, Japan
Daito Manabe’s work presents an endlessly dancing digital figure, continuously morphing into new shapes, moving beyond any logic of physics or laws of the universe. Extracted from MRI scans of the artist’s brain, raw brainwave data is translated into digital movement that manipulates and choreographs Manabe’s 3D-scanned human body, alongside visual noises and glitches generated by distracting thoughts in the brain. The work thus presents a new potential relation between the brain and the body, emphasizing the ability of the mind to move into the infinite, while the body is still bound to physical limitations of motion, gravity, volume, shape, and form.
Daito Manabe is an artist, programmer, and DJ. His works branch into a variety of fields and take a new approach to everyday materials and phenomena. His practice is informed by careful observation and a quest to discover and elucidate the essential potentialities inherent to the human body, data, programming, computers, and other phenomena, thus probing the interrelations and boundaries delineating the analog and the digital, the real and the virtual.
Everyone from the President of our great nation to the little guy on the street knows that we will never succeed as long as Space Aliens continue to harvest our brain waves to power their evil plans at world conquest.
You want to get ahead in this world, you need to get a hat -- and I mean a REAL hat, made of aluminum foil to block X, Y and Z waves from getting to your brain. The only way we will win this war is to protect ourselves from alien brain control.

Yeh. Another splash shot. Lots of them lately but I really like them. Seem to go in stages so probably a few more to come before I move on to something else!
I had a brainwave in the cleaning up process though.. Large shallow tray thing under the glass so most of the splash lands there!
No processing. Only a slight crop and a straighten (My desk clearly isn't level lol)
Rick: You're a camouflage.
Morty: Camouflage? What are you talking about, Rick?
Rick: Ricks have a very distinctive and traceable brainwave due to our genius. The best way to hide from an enemy's radar is to stand near someone with complementary brainwaves that make ours invisible. See, when a Rick is with a Morty, the genius waves get canceled out by the, uh, Morty waves.
