Some of us have no mechanical skills... Luckily, some of us do have mobile phones for roadside assistance!

(Picture perfect beautiful.....)

In Tonight's E! news time capsule, check out this fresh faced ingenue. Then 15, Solange, having won a modeling competition in 'Seventeen' magazine, had started her soon to be unstoppable career and only E! was on the set of her first photo shoot -

"My personal style? Gosh - I don't know! People keep asking me that question. I guess the best answer would be attic surfing?

*chuckles*

Most of my clothing actually are hand me downs from my older cousins & siblings. The house I live in was my grandmother's and a lot of the old clothing everyone outgrew just ended up there. I was always encouraged to take anything I like from there and make it my own, likely because my mother wanted to save the cash on new clothing. Luckily I took to most of it and started wearing it regularly. What I have on now for example is all 'vintage cousin Lisa!' "

From the beginning Solange was sweet, charming and disarming but most of all humble.

"I'm not sure if this will pan out for me truthfully so I'm trying to keep myself grounded. A lot of the times these things can go either way so I don't want to be cocky about my potential. Evenif I only get this far then I'll be happy but I do hope I can make a career out of this."

And make one, she did.

I was very, very happy to find Zendaya's/Rocky Blue's 2nd edition VIP doll yesterday and began brainstroming immediately on how to use her without making yet another little sister. She & Solange have similar facial structures (especially the chins) and both have brown eyes, so it was a no brainer. Young!Kendall will make random Cameos here and there in 'ad' campains (perhaps a portfolio?) and in the 'real world' verse will hang out with Courtney and keep her company.

Also, I'm very proud of my E! mock-up as I tried to stay true to their graphics & fonts as much as possible

Here are some of the questions I prepared for the fireside chat last night:

X

-Why Google X? Why moonshot thinking?

-How can big companies innovate?

-Why don’t they?

-Must they innovate outside the core?

oAdjacent markets?

oCommon processes (e.g., machine learning)

-Does it take special governance protections to transcend short-term thinking?

Loon

-OK, was the name chosen to disarm critics? =)

-How did you get permission to do fly overs?

-Is there a framework for when one can “seek forgiveness vs. permission”?

-What are the goals of Loon?

-Wow, this could enable a world where governments can’t censor their people or cut off communication (like Turkey recently tried to do with Twitter). This sounds like a really good idea to everyone except repressive regimes, yes?

Autonomous Cars (my three rides)

-OK, so what’s up with the Hello Kitty cute look? =)

-What do we expect the timeline to be? Might our kids never need to drive?

-What is the long-term future of transportation?

-It must be a fascinating exercise to think about how one sequences the market entry

oStraight to consumer benefit (and not long-distance trucking)

oNew entrants can be bold (versus automotive incumbents who want to incrementally improve cruise control)

•Isn’t it interesting that the two most innovative automotive companies are new entrants in Silicon Valley?

Glass

-What was the original enthusiasm for Glass? Augmented reality? As a possible future of search?

-How has that thinking changed?

-Is it primarily a social research tool so far?

Contacts

-Is this like the Dick Tracy watch… 20 years before its time?

-Take Glass to the masses?

-How do you decide when to partner for joint development?

Wing UAV

-Will you bundle this with a Prayer? Ha!

-Does the fixed wing approach solve the battery life problems of drone delivery?

-What was the brainstroming process that led to Wing?

-Is this part of a family of products?

-What does this enable? (Just-in-time resource sharing.)

Makani / Kite Power

-Why is Google engaged in energy projects?

-How do you stage gate a project like this? (does it need to hit certain targets of competitiveness to keep going?)

-How do you think about build vs acquire? Internal projects vs. ecosystem outside

The theme, Hustle, was announced Friday ayt 12 noon as I was on my way to Lake Tahoe for the weekend. Jodi and I brainstromed on the drive up and this was the photo idea we settled on. I envisioned a back alley, tough to find in North Lake Tahoe, with a brick wall and some Hustlers shooting dice. The brick worked out. We sourced some dice fairly easily at a local game shop. We started shooting at around 8 PM.

Jodi is throwing the dice and the pair of legs in the background belong to a female passerby on her way out from a shift at a restaurant next door to our location.

D: Hey, how are you doing

Passerby: Fine

D: Would you mind if I took your photo really quick?

P: That's a really random question

D: Yea, I'm working on a shoot right over here, it will only take a minute or two

P: Ok, I guess

D: I'm just shooting your legs and feet, stand over there please.

P: Umm. I like how y'all have that pile of money.

D: Yea, this is our set. Like it? Jodi, roll 'em up

D: (Snap, snap, snap)

P: Cool, can I see?

D: Sure

P: That looks totally rad, y'all have a good night

Discovered new song that I like (It's cool how I know that guy; Meet the dude at the public library in 7th grade and reunited w/ him while being technical crew for 2011 spring musical while he was an ensemble dance): www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yjdG8KMUqg

This afternoon, I chilled at Justin Tran's house with Brian Huynh as we brainstromed ideas for our webseries. Can't give away much but it's basically about a film club with a... "colorful" ensemble. Funfun. Finally got to play Scott Pilgrim, The Game. I had fun being Ramona and carrying dudes, throwing them on the ground, and beating them with my hammer that had a smiley face.

Brainstroming 2008

As I have referenced in my description of my future city in my vision, here are the next pictures displaying various designs of ruling class buildings, spaceships and robots. Above, I have shared a few brainstroming ideas. All of the drawings surrounded by rectangles are comcept art for different ruling class buildings in their according city. The bottom left shows a very poor attempt of a gas mask from a militarised police officer from the regime. Finally, the bottom right displays a few designs for potential police drones. I started these designs around the beginning of this year on weekends.

The occupy wall street movement is a peaceful movement started in NYC to protest against the wall street companies that are according to the protestors the reason for all the economic troubles in the United States. The protests have carried on for over a month and the people are still strong. They brave the fall cold and extreme weather conditions to protest.
