A simple DIY macro flash bracket, attached to a Canon Rebel XT and Vivitar 285HV. Excuse the slight shakiness, as I had my 40D in my other hand... :)

A French-threaded Stronglight Competition sealed-bearings cartridge bottom bracket. Alloy cups and lockring and 118mm length axle.
Installed with 3/16 x 3/4 Alum Pop Rivet at top and 10-24 x 2" Lg Bolt with Nyloc nut at bottom. The hardest part was installing the nut on the bottom screw from inside the water tank compartment.
Note that the bottom screw will allow the awning foot bracket to sit over the top of it and keep the foot from shifting.

Got my Orbis yesterday and my first thought was "I need a bracket for this thing!" So while I was on my out to Home Depot to scrounge for parts I checked out my crappy old (normal) flash bracket - you know the ones you see wedding photogs with that let you keep your flash on-axis when you're in landscape or portrait.
Anyway, I looked at it and thought the proportions might be right if I were to mount it upside down, and I was right - the only modification required was to flip the part of the bracket that attaches the flash, because the unit is upside down and sideways to how it's normally supposed to be used.
The setup JUST BARELY fits with my 5D with battery grip and Canon 24-70 f/2.8L with a 580EX attached and canon OC-E3 E-TTL cable (it adds an inch or more to the height of the 580ex)
the flash bracket is branded "RPS Studio" and came with the most worthless TTL cord ever - I think this is the one www.adorama.com/FABSSTTLNK.html

While Adam and Nathan laid out most of the decking from above, I would help from the ground to fit the T&G decking together. Then I crawled underneath and had to install over 250 bolts fastening the brackets on the pillars and beams.

As described in the previous picture, a rod can (tightly) fit in the center of the spiral, allowing you to fairly firmly attach it to other structures (e.g. headlight brick, hollow pin, etc). The example I used here is another spiral, which you can do to add strength to the connection between them, but IMO it's more effective to secure the spirals end-to-end with plates, tiles or other standard connections.

Here is a close-up of one of the brackets on the cabinet.
This particular bracket is on the top part of the cabinet. I had to mount them with the screws at a 45° angle because the space was too tight for the drill at 90°.
I used countersunk screws so that wires wouldn't catch on exposed screwheads.

Sachsenwald (Saxon Forest) is a ~70 km² (~27 sq.mi.) large remainder of a giant primeval forest which once spread from the Baltic Sea to Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony). The name Sachsenwald arose in the time when the area belonged to the Herzogtum Sachsen-Lauenburg (Duchy of Saxe-Lauenburg).
In 1871, Sachsenwald was given to Chancellor Otto von Bismarck by Emperor Wilhelm i (William I) for his achievements for the unification of Germany. Today, most parts of the forest are still owned by his descendants.
The brook Schwarze Au is flowing through the Sachsenwald into the river Bille which forms the northern border of Sachsenwald. The Bille valley is protected as nature reserve by German law.
