I've made it back, and the snooker is long gone, but garden tasks got in the way after that !
I had a surprise phone call yesterday morning from fellow Flickrer Paul Green, with the news that he was about an hour away from me in a bus that we had been discussing only a few weeks ago, and which I had not seen since it departed the north west nearly 9 years ago. After a bit of frantic thinking on my part, a venue was suggested where he could make a brief photo stop, and carry on his journey with the minimum of fuss, and it was jolly nice to catch up with both of them, and in ideal weather too.
This was G611 BPH's second trip up north this year, as it had been to Bus & Coach World at Blackburn for some bodywork and a repaint, but was now making a a return trip to have some faults fixed ! Sadly, that meant that it had yet to be lettered, so it does look rather bland in this state - if a Bradshaw-bodied Volvo Citybus could ever be described as bland !
I have spent much of this evening trying to locate some earlier shots of its time up here, and they will follow shortly, along with its story.

A locally registered local spot, the best. Despite some fairly noticeable rust on the door bottoms, it looked really rather well preserved. I must say, those GS wheeltrims do look a little bit too anonymous for my liking.

In what was the twilight of its career, ARRIVA Medway Towns 7624 G624 BPH is seen on Lower Rochester Road between Cliffe Woods and Wainscott whilst working route 133. Friday 7th September 2012.
This vehicle was withdrawn from service in November 2012 and subsequently sold to Wealden PSV in March 2013 it has since appeared in use with Autocar on many occasions on hire from the former company.

This vehicle was withdrawn in April 2013 and was subsequently sold to North West Bus Sales, Manchester in July of the same year although it was not collected until November!

On the last Sunday in March 2010 a mini running day took place in Crawley with services based on the bus station, where we see Swift SM114 BPH 114H loading up to perform over route 426A. New in June 1970 this bus spent one month as a store and trainer at Addlestone before transfer to Crawley in August. She only remained at Crawley for seven months before being sent to Guildford. In her working career she was never again allocated to Crawley. Sunday 28th March 2010. DSCN8816.

The PSG resin kit is a straightforward one to build with a few areas needing a little detail enhancement to reflect the actual bus.
The model makes an interesting comparison to the standard format of the conceptual Hyndburn Bus Company one in previous photos - as does the 'in your face' colour scheme of the real thing alongside the blues of The Blackburn Bus Company Versas around the town.
Prototypes (there are two) are ex Preston Bus.

Arriva Southern Counties G626 BPH although in schools yellow livery gets a turn on the 101 from Maidstone through to Gillingham one evening in May 2007.
G626 BPH was a Volvo Citybus new to London and Country in 1989.
