Yesterday I went to Boscombe beach in search of rainbows.

Although it was the right weather, I never actually though I'd see one. Cue mass panic as I changed my lens.

There is something very satisfying about capturing a rainbow that isn't over my neighbours house. Hengistbury Head is in the distance.

Summer 2015 image stack of a lightning show over Poole Bay and Bournemouth.

A September day at Bournemouth beach in Bournemouth Dorset. Plenty of empty deck chairs and calm seas. A perfect day.

What a tonic that would be.. heres hoping!

(For those of you who know your 80s music) at least we didn't get knocked out by Matt Bianco!

Another one from the other evening without the long exposure filters.

Have a great Sunday x

A recent search through my photo archives and I found this picture of a giant deck chair on Bournemouth beach from 2012... I think it was dismantled a few years ago, but it would have been ideal for 'King Kong'... Lol.!!!

A few long silhouettes from the evening sunshine along the beach on the Bournemouth coastline.

Re-sumbitting this image after spending some time in photoshop cleaning up the rubbish from the beach.

At the end of a dreary week it was a pleasure to catch this lovely sunset over Bournemouth Pier during a gentle low tide.

There was an amazing afterglow too. I haven't shot this pier very much so it was good to be somewhere different. I love pier photography, more Weston and Clevedon are on my hit list next year.

You can take a zip wire ride down to the beach from the spirally tower construction at the end.

A very grey morning on Bournemouth Beach

A beautiful morning stroll on Bournemouth seafront heading for Boscombe.

We do not get much thunder and lightning in England, normally one good storm every 5 years!

This was one of those nights I was watching it develop across the English Channel from northern France and in the end went out at 12.00 pm and headed for the cliffs in Bournemouth.

I set the camera up in the light rain and took this shot in the first 5 minutes and then the rain turned nasty and given I had no rain cover or my large green cloth I gave up and headed back to the car as I really did not want to destroy the R5 two weeks before a photo trip to France. Really nice flash of lightning that covered 80 degrees of the view.

Early morning and the beach is empty and freshly raked. Bournemouth Beach and Pier. Late Summer September.

A panorama off Bournemouth Beach of Old Harry's Rocks and the four cruise ships at anchor. Stiitched together with Affintiy Photo which isn't quite as good as Photoshop from what I can see so the occasional artefact. First panorama in Affinity so it may be user error :) Best viewed on Ultrawide screen. Shot with 85mm Ai-S on Canon 6D.

Bournemouth Beach Huts taken on a cold day in February.

Can't say that I'm very used to shooting air shows at night, so sorry for the grainy results... but thought I'd pop up just the one photo from the Bournemouth Air Festival 2016

Amazingly the sun shone today, so we went over to Bournemouth. Although it was cold there were lots of paddle boarders and surfers hitting the waves.

Back to rain tomorrow *sigh*

I popped to the beach after work this evening and was pleased to discover a fun fair on the promenade and I spotted this older couple sitting back in complete silence just enjoying watching the carousel go round.

I took a couple of photos and decided I would try and apply a Lomo effect to the image using Photoshop as it is something I have been reading about recently and really wanted to attempt. :)

I think this shot is a little too busy really, not enough negative space.

Olympus digital camera. Old photo different crop.

A friend flies a kite on Bournemouth Beach. Bournemouth sits on the junction between Hampshire and Dorset. It's coastline comprises mainly sandy beaches backed by gravel and sandy clay cliffs, and stretches from Sandbanks to Christchurch Harbour.

Taken with my Nikon D40, fitted with a Tamron 70-300mm F4/5.6 DI LD (Nikon AFS) lens. It was formed from 3 shots, and blended into an HDR manually using GIMP (arduous!), and processed in GIMP, Picasa, and Photoscape.

Caught a stunning sunrise this morning... managed to pop down to the beach before work and grabbed this quickly. I've just noticed the reflections in the sea of the sky... didn't notice that at the time! Blooming cold as well... took a good 5 minutes for my fingers to start working again! Used a short enough exposure (0.8sec) to create a blur and sense of motion in the water. Sky balanced out with a 2 stop 0.6 Hard edged Lee grad filter. Processed in Lightroom.

Boscombe Pier just after sunrise this morning. Lee Big Stopper plus Lee .9 soft ND and .6 soft grad.

Bournemouth, Dorset, UK.

A storm over Solent and the Isle of Wight taken from Bournemouth West Cliff this was a stack of 3 images and 40-50 seconds taken with my Canon 5D3 and 24-70L and one of the best storms I have seen, mainly because I kept dry. I have re done this image and tidied with topaz and a tighter crop, enjoy.
