This week's theme for Macro Mondays is "bottle". Well, I had a very nice antique scent bottle but I couldn't do it justice. A search around the house found plenty small bottles in the kitchen cupboards, none in the fridge but plenty whisky bottles in the bay windows, under my desk, in the garden shed, in wardrobes and in a recycling skip outside the back door. And even a few ageing beer bottles too. Well, I've often said one should never buy whisky based on an attractive bottle but I apply my exception rule in at least two cases. Nc'Nean (organic whisky from over the hill in Morvern) do really beautiful bottles and great whisky too. And I've always liked Highland Park as I first discovered it in a windy bus stop in the middle of nowhere in Orkney.
So I have photographed the "h" on the bottle front with the liquid gold whisky shining through. Most distilleries put a lot into their bottles, both in terms of design and glass quality. The bottles are made from the finest quartz sands mined in the Lochaline mines under the village over the hills from where I live. Next time you have a decent whisky check how clear and pure the glass is in the bottle. www.lochalinequartzsand.co.uk/

For 121 Pictures in 2021 #13 "Bottle/s", This is an assorted sampling of bottles in my liquor cabinet. From left to right: dry vermouth (for cooking), Glen Moray scotch, Jack Daniels rye whiskey, peach schnapps, a whiskey made in a suburb of Austin, and Extra Anejo tequila (for sipping, not margaritas).
For those who weren't around then, this 2 inch bottle has needles and pins inside, which was a hit for the Searchers in 1964.

For Lunch today I thought I would take an opportunity to practice my Macro shots and use my neighbor's Bottle Brush plant. It is in full bloom and the bee's love all the pollen. Getting to the right side of my camera during the lock-down for COVID-19 makes my day just all that much better.
Bottlebrush plants (Callistemon spp.) get their name from the spikes of flowers that bloom at the ends of the stems, bearing a strong resemblance to a bottle brush.
I can throwing away of empty glas bottles so badly. It is imagine so many things that I can make of it. Unfortunately, my place in my home is not enough...
I'm reviewing this years shots and adding my favorites to my portfolio. There is no need to comment. Happy holidays to all.

A basset hound named Nutmeg lived with us for almost 13 years. This is one of the reminders we have from those years.
