2 inch square macro from a backlit olive colored bottle of “Prisoner” Cabernet Sauvignon the glass of which is etched by the manufacturer with “Prisoner calendar” tally marks

Something completely different than my normal nature images.

Last week I visited our city's wonderful Arts Center and I came back with a few nice photographs. Who knew that identical bottles all lined up could be so unique!

“B1NR” by DICTO is an innovative, open-source “binary” sculpture system created by the Osaka-based sculptor, using just two standardized components—PET bottle security rings as multi-notch nodes and nylon zip ties as tensioned connectors—to build complex geometric structures from everyday waste.

“Binary:1-Nil-Repeat” (B1NR) draws its name directly from binary code, where bottle rings form sleek zeros (0)—circular voids of pure geometry—and ties serve as ones (1)—straight, commercially available recycled zip ties that bind them. This visual duality simplifies assembly into repeating polyhedral modules from recycled PET bottles, embodying Buckminster Fuller's ephemeralization: achieving "more and more with less and less until eventually you can do everything with nothing." These zero-one-nil forms create lightweight, tool-free sculptures that scale from handheld orbs to public installations.[1][2]

Visual Binary Mapping

- **Zeros (Rings)**: Curved bottle sections, forming negative space for tensegrity and light play—empty yet essential.

- **Ones (Ties)**: Commercially available recycled zip ties, identical in form to the numeral 1, providing tension without bulk.

- **1-Nil-Repeat**: The emergent void-repeat pattern, minimizing material while maximizing structural repeats.

Assembly Insight

Stack zeros into binary pairs, interlock with ones, and let nil spaces emerge naturally—no adhesives needed. This one-nil poetry turns waste into ephemeral art, echoing Fuller's efficiency.

This is mirrored only view of the bottle with water and flashlights I used to create the More than we can see art piece.

Here is the poetic description for the picture.

Lost in the frame

are the pieces

of the mind,

far more than

what you see.

First glance brings

the sudden face,

that smiles

back with glee.

Second glance sees,

the Jesus figure

with arms outstretched

for you and me.

Then comes

two ferry men,

floating on

rushing water.

seeking those

who will pay

their fee..

Last but not least

the dragons face

looking down

at the baby dragon

smiling back at me.

Over 30 years in our house and our garden is an ongoing process that I love to do and care for... this is a small section and the little pond is for our frogs... the large pond is to the right of all this, where the koi live.

The planter on the right is filled with Balloon Milkweed that I ordered from Florida.. and that's where I found June. It will be covered and used for Monarch food... if they ever get here...

Far left distance, is the dreaded bamboo!!!!!

Floating water stars

swirling in my sight.

Day dreams and

memories are things

we hold on to too tight.

Growth in life and love

depend upon ones

changing plight.

Floating water stars

swirling in my sight.

Change and forward

motion are forever

ones true fight.

What dreams came

true were up to you

come day or night.

Floating water stars

swirling in my sight.

165/365 This is from my empty coke bottle. I was trying to see if I can come out with something. I asked my youngest nephew to help me with the light and he didn't know how to hold it and kind of pointed it at the wrong direction but it turn out ok. I love the bokeh from the bottom.

Coca-Cola is a carbonated soft drink sold in stores, restaurants, and vending machines throughout the world. It is produced by The Coca-Cola Company of Atlanta, Georgia, and is often referred to simply as Coke (a registered trademark of The Coca-Cola Company in the United States since March 27, 1944). Originally intended as a patent medicine when it was invented in the late 19th century by John Pemberton, Coca-Cola was bought out by businessman Asa Griggs Candler, whose marketing tactics led Coke to its dominance of the world soft-drink market throughout the 20th century.

The company produces concentrate, which is then sold to licensed Coca-Cola bottlers throughout the world. The bottlers, who hold territorially exclusive contracts with the company, produce finished product in cans and bottles from the concentrate in combination with filtered water and sweeteners. The bottlers then sell, distribute and merchandise Coca-Cola to retail stores and vending machines. The Coca-Cola Company also sells concentrate for soda fountains to major restaurants and food service distributors.

The Coca-Cola Company has, on occasion, introduced other cola drinks under the Coke brand name. The most common of these is Diet Coke, with others including Caffeine-Free Coca-Cola, Diet Coke Caffeine-Free, Coca-Cola Cherry, Coca-Cola Zero, Coca-Cola Vanilla, and special versions with lemon, lime or coffee. In 2013, Coke products could be found in over 200 countries worldwide, with consumers downing more than 1.8 billion company beverage servings each day.

Here is my new altered art book, and my little altered bottle. The bottle only measures two inches! With the top it measures three. It is a little antique glass jug who is now living it's new life as an altered art bottle.

Three pretty curved bottles of wine from three different countries waiting to be tasted.

This lovely, boho lantern faux stained glass project was made by covering an old glass bottle with hand formed polymer clay tiles and faux soldering. The clay was textured, baked and then painted with black paint to produce a faux aged look.

Spent the day making another batch of vintage bottles, altering them in an unique fashion.

Some of these were made by an art pal, Jenn Francis. Both of us taking a different approach.

I incorporated microscope slide charms while she added metal tags and even bent wire to create a note card holder.

I've got some work yet on the soldered sections, adding patina to the metal surfaces.

Making many more before the collection is finished.

Ahoy, me Hearties! And Avast ye (translation: pay attention)…

I just listed this really neat Pirate’s Legacy assemblage bottle filled with and dangling from the bottle’s neck possessions a pirate most likely would have had and treasured.

here is even a boney severed hand inside. No doubt, it was lost in one of the pirate’s sword fights. But, not to worry, there is also a hook inside for the arm missing his hand!

The stopper is a parrot. And a black skull and swashbuckler’s sword dangle from the neck. This is really enchanting, whimsical, and has so much to discover.

Also, this is an ideal creation to help you release your imagination and encourage it to run barefoot and wildly for hours!

This little sweetheart is done on another wonderful vintage bottle.
