Walk through Singapore Botanic Gardens

Inside the Botanical Gardens, not as hugely interesting as I expected. The building itself was probably the most interesting bit!

Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne, City of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Good way to spend the morning.

Another of St. Louis' gems, located in an urban neighborhood accessible by public transportation and surrounded by beautiful old homes.

By contrast, the Chicago Botanic Garden is 30 miles north of Chicago in the upscale suburb of Glencoe, and is a substantial walk from either the nearest bus stop on Green Bay Road or the nearest Metra commuter train station.

My wife and I took a wee trip to the Botanic Gardens today. Some really nice flowers and roasting greenhouses!!

Best I've seen in the DC public decorations. The ornaments are lovely close up.

Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden

Over 1,800 species of tropical plants including orchids, banana groves & more in a tranquil setting.

Papaikou (near Hilo), Big Island of Hawaii.

A really nice garden. It did cost $25 USD per person to enter. I'm not sure I'd pay that again, maybe once, but you can see the natural beauty of Hawaii in so many places that doesn't cost anything.

Worth it for one unhurried visit. If you're just passing through, and don't really appreciate the diversity of different plants, probably not worth the visit. It's basically a trek down the hill, to the ocean and back up again.

Heidelberg Middle School seventh-graders visited the University of Heidelberg Botanical Gardens April 15-16 in celebration of Earth Week. The students toured the outdoor gardens, arboretum and greenhouses and concluded the tour by sampling tropical fruits from the garden. (Photo by Kristen Marquez, Herald Post).
