Das Wohnzimmer
Der Botanische Garten Karlsruhe ist einer meiner wichtigen Orte. Ich besuche ihn seit Jahrzehnten immer wieder. Besonders die Pflanzenschauhäuser sind voller Erinnerungen für mich. Wenn ich dorthin gehe, gehe ich immer auch ein Stück weit in meine innere Welt, wen ich dorthin mitnehme, den führe ich auch in mein Herz.
Der Ort und ich – wir wandeln uns. Wir sind beide in die Jahre gekommen. Seit seiner Restauration und Wiedereröffnung in diesem Frühjahr hat eine neue Phase begonnen. Die Pflanzschauhäuser sehen nun wieder so aus wie zur Zeit ihrer Errichtung im 18. Jahrhundert – aber ganz anders als in meiner Erinnerung. Denn ich kannte sie bisher nur der Form, wie sie nach der Zerstörung im 2. Weltkrieg wiederaufgebaut wurden.
Mit diesem kleinen Fotoprojekt versuche ich, mir den Ort wieder vertraut zu machen.
Die Bilder der Serie sind alle stark nachbearbeitet. Es geht mir dabei nicht so sehr darum zu zeigen, wie der Ort aussieht, sondern darum, wie ich ihn empfinde.
Ich lade alle Besucher meines Photostrams ein, ein wenig bei dem Bild zu verweilen. Das geht zwar gegen die Konvention bei Flickr, aber ich denke, es lohnt sich.
Etwas zur Technik. Das Bild setzt sich aus fünf hochauflösenden Fotos mit unterschiedlichen Fokuspunkten zusammen. Gestackt mit Helicon Focus und nachbearbeitet mit Lightroom, Photoshop und Color Effects aus der Nik-Filtersammlung.
The living room
The Botanical Garden Karlsruhe is one of my important places. I went there again and again for decades. Especially the plant showhouses are full of memories for me. When I go there, I also always go a little way into my inner world, whom I take with me, I take for a walk into my heart.
The place and me – we change. We both got old. Since its restoration and reopening this spring, a new phase has begun. The place looks again as it did at the time of its construction in the 18th century – but very different than in my memory. Because I knew it so far only how it was rebuilt after the destruction in World War II.
With this small photo project, I try to familiarize myself with the place again.
The pictures of the series are all heavily reworked. It's not so much about showing how the place looks, but about how I feel about it.
I invite all visitors to my photostream to linger a bit on the picture. Although this goes against the convention at Flickr, I think it's worth it.
Something to the technique. The picture consists of five high-resolution photos with different focus points. Stacked with Helicon Focus and reworked with Lightroom, Photoshop and Color Effects from the NIK filter collection.
