2000 Boston Marathon, Brookline, Massachusetts. Waiting for the first runners to arrive. It was cold that year (it's always held in April). The Marathon is the world's oldest annual marathon.

Another photo from The Boston Marathon. This girl was amazing. She was by herself, sitting on the barricade, cheering on runners so personally and sincerely. It was fun just to watch her for a while; she was so happy and committed to cheering.

The City of Boston is buzzing with energy and excitement with the 2014 Boston Marathon coming up tomorrow. Welcome to Boston! #bostonstrong #bostonmarathon

Another shot from after the marathon. I've really started to notice all the Vespas all over the city.

Well I did it. The hardest run of my life for sure. The Boston Marathon is considered the toughest marathon in the world and I sure found out why. You are pounded with up and downs for 13 miles and then the hills start. Still, I got the job done.

Looks crazy but made sense at the time! Worst running conditions ever (not so great for spectating or photographing either), but they still came out and ran. Inspiring.

"Worknesh Degefa of Ethiopia took first place for the women’s elite racers with a time of 2:23:31. She had dominated the race, pacing ahead of the rest of the women’s leader pack by several minutes for most of the way. It was her first ever Abbott World Marathon Majors win, per the B.A.A., and her first attempt at the Boston Marathon. " - Boston Globe

Scores of wheelchairs on hand remain unused hours after the explosions at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. EMS onsite was ready to treat thousands of runners after the 80-degree heat of last year's marathon. Instead, perfect running conditions in the mid-50s meant lots of resources that were put towards victims of the explosions.

Auntie Agnes finished in 4:02:58. Not bad for a 63 year old with osteoporosis. Not to mention that she slows down along the route to high-five little kids. She said she keeps thinking all those little kids are like her grandchildren back at home in Vancouver, so she wants to encourage them to come out and support the runners. So freakin' sweet. She kicks some serious ass.
