Sorry -- did I say bored? I meant board! No, really, I hate meetings. Especially when I have to go to them and present and take minutes and listen to other people's presentations after a long day of work when all I want to do is go home and veg. But they are necessary evils. This one was for the Westwood Village & Estates and Siesta Terrace neighborhood association meeting. I volunteered to help with the website.
Anyway, I noticed the iSight built-in camera while I was typing on my MacBook to take meeting notes, and I thought, "Why not take a self-portrait right now to creatively express how I'm feeling?" So I did. I'm sure you can relate. ;-)
Adirondack Mountains, New York. The boreal forest is the largest biome on the planet, and experiences some of the planet's coldest tempratures.
Shot this owl in the trees as daylight was fading away - I couldn't see him with my eyes. Camera did some magic for me! Grand Teton National Park on the Two Oceans Lake trail

I'm so bored that I'm taking pictures of my desk again. I guess it's better than the photos of the accumulated dust-bunnies that I took last year.

Govanhill Baths.
A friend was reminiscing that he had learnt to swim in the 1960s at the Govanhill Baths on the south side of Glasgow. He remembered the queues of children outside the entrance and that, despite the vigilance of bath staff, bored boys had scraped the soft sandstone with the larger pre-decimal coins (penny, florin, or half-crown), creating circular depressions.
We walked there to investigate. The building is at present undergoing refurbishment, but at the bottoms of the pillars on either side of the public entrance the circular pits are clear to see.
I was reminded of the grooves seen on the walls of some old school buildings, where children sharpened slate pencils on the bricks.

Confined to barracks for three days does not a happy poodle make. Torrential rain and high winds, the aftermath of a cyclone, meant Penny missed her usual walks. Definitely bored!
We had company in town and took a small tour of Hollywood. We saw Paula at Kodak Theatre getting inverviewed. She looks quite bored!!!
Spotted this small owl at the top of this 20+ ft tree. It was still there when I returned with my camera an hour later.
Not sure how it is balanced up there and what it is holding onto. I kept calling to it to get it to look at me.
Not nearly as impressive as most the owl and bird shots I have seen on flickr, but I was thrilled to see the owl.
My husband once found a boreal owl tangled in kite string. He untangled it and it was able to fly away unharmed. These are very small owls.
