Now is prime time for these impressive large wasps. Males (which don't sting) gather in large groups awaiting virgin females. The girls can sting, but only if strongly provoked, and the family is known for weak stings.

I don't have boots (thereby I have no bootstraps), but I do wear shoes. With the week we've had, I figure it's time to start pulling ourselves up by the bootstraps. Actually, once I got past Monday, I recovered quite nicely. I am pretty resilient when it comes to things piling on top of each other. My husband is the one who starts to get down when it seems the things just keep coming. I figure, this too shall pass, until then, we just have to take care of things as they crop up. Off to take the car to the shop now.
