This series of photos ISN'T from the store - this is what my home is like, even the kitchen & bathroom. Lots of them have been read and are saved for reading again, many more are on my to-do list.

I love books!

Actually, that's not quite true as I follow a daily Bible reading scheme using a program on my Palm Pilot but the assorted theological volumes underneath were large enough to make a good support and I thought Eccl 12:12 ("... the writing of many books is endless, and excessive devotion to books is wearying to the body.") was rather ironic for a bookworm like myself.

In this design, an emphasis was placed on integrating reading spaces with the bookstacks.

As the shelves empty and the library closes its doors, we all file through and mourn the silence.

Preparation for shelving installation on Level 4

Some of the books I'm using for my book project.

I'm not sure why I keep my GNB with these others, possibly because of the colours but possibly also to stop them getting faded by the sun.

Ths Guiness Book of Records is from 1930-something & I found it in a charity shop, it's odd to think how much has changed since then.

The Sprauve Library had a a decent number of computers - some of which were donated by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

LSC bookstacks are over 30 feet tall, and require the use of a hydraulic lift by LSC staff. The lights in this area are kept low, and lighting is tied to motion sensors to further reduce exposure (and energy consumption).

Giving these away.

School library, looking across, and down, to the other side of the library.

A busy blur on the stairs of Bookstack 1.

Which should I read next? Any suggestions? Have you read any of these?
