HMM folks stay safe wherever you are .

When we nowadays hear or read the word bookmark, we usually think of it in relation with an Browser on our computers and mobilephones for our visit in the world wide web. But there used to be a time when this word was standing for use only for books. And this is how our tiny little helpers still use it in their little world. A nice Dragon brass bookmark is a great place for my tiny friend to sit down, relax and read for a little while. :)

For Macro Mondays: "Bookmark"

And we danced, on the brink of an unknown future, to an echo from a vanished past. (J. Wyndham)

Apple print is by artist E. J. Schutt. It can be seen in the book "Old Southern Apples" by Creighton Lee Calhoun. The variety is winesap.

MACRO MONDAYS 'Bookmark' theme

My mothers bookmark and her favourite psalm. The bible belonged to my great, great grandfather who was born in 1817 and married in 1842, exactly 100 years before I arrived.

Macro Monday theme: Bookmarks

Why do we love reading books? Is it because we can explore other worlds or because through them we can escape our own?

Maybe we just like that we can always bookmark a page and return to it anytime we want...

Life doesn't give us this... life is an adventure we cannot pause...

We can just live, learn from experiences, have fun as much as we can... and hope to enrich this adventure we call life.

Here is a little self-adhesive post-it index flag marking an important page in my notebook.

Beautiful, decoupage bookmark with a rose motif.

A really old bookmark in a small bible. Sophia was my Gt.Gt. Grandmother.

Macro Mondays bookmark theme.

Normally I use the most diverse things as markers, such as leaves, dried flowers, dry branches, curious cardboard, spikes, rulers, in short, anything that occurs to me at the moment and that I have close to me...

Bookmark based on Matisse's Icarus Cutout resting on MOMA's book, Henri Matisse The Cut-Outs

For Macro Mondays. This was the first bookmark I thought of when reading the theme for this week, but could I find it? Having looked for it every day I eventually rediscovered it on Sunday, just in time! I don't think I have ever used it as a bookmark - I'm far too impatient to feed the pages carefully through the coils and so I usually use any piece of paper lying to hand. The coils seem to have been fiddled with and stretched so needs to be placed in a heavy book again.
