Front and back cover of Recipe Book published to sell at a bazaar in 1964 to raise funds for the Keighley School Swimming Bath Appeal. Part of the Keighley and District Local History Society Digital Archive.

First I thought it was just a card, but it's a little booklet! It tells the story of a ducky who lives in Easterland and is sad because he wants to dress up for Easter and has nothing to wear. The other animals in Easterland all help by each giving him things to wear! It is the cutest! I will share the other pages soon!

My type design class formally ends this weekend, and I'll be presenting the state of my design. Here's my little specimen booklet, fresh from the printers.

One of the many booklets and leaflets printed at the Printing Technical School at the National Children's Home Harpenden Herts.

A few lucky older boys were chosen to take up printing when they reached school leaving age at 14 or 15, if they could stick the course, they were rewarded with very good opportunities at the end of their training.

D15667. A late cousin of mine used to be an Air Hostess in the early 1960s with a now long defunct airline called Autair. They were leaders in the field of package holidays which were a new phenomenon at the time.

They produced this little booklet to give their passengers, most of whom had never flown before. Presumably the cost of production was covered by the advertising with many of the adverts being for cigarettes, not something that we are used to seeing today.

The prices in the Bar Tariff make interesting reading!

This is a booklet about the people who work in the local community that the children covered and wrote. I appeared on it too.
