My bookshelf, or one of em, anyway.

One of the few proper bookshelves I saw in America, reminded me of Sadoveanu's house in Iasi.

On the other side of the room, through large french doors, you can see the ocean...perfect place to get lost in the world of books. And they had a piano in the adjacent room, of course!

about to be rearranged

Arranging books on the bookshelf squeezed between the consumer unit and coat rack in the home office under the stairs...

...I used to arrange by subject, but my textile designing other half suggested colours. Tough when you're colourblind.

Biblioteca Marucelliana

I always wanted to organize my bookshelves by color. This is my beginning - the bookcase holding my hardcover and trade paperback fiction.

I used to have double the amount of books (and bookshelves) - all crammed into my little office space. In January and February, I donated 220 books to the library. Had to make room for the loom! I ended up giving away most of my fiction collection - I figured that I barely read fiction anymore, and if I felt a hankering to, I could go to the library. I also sold some of my old college and graduate school textbooks on Amazon. Pretty penny for obscure texts about dead languages and Near Eastern Art and Archaeology and Library Science.... However, I did not deny all of my past -there are a few remnants on the shelf. (And two more bookshelves that aren't in the photo... this doesn't include all of my knitting books - they stay with the yarn downstairs)

...Deciding what books to take with me. I am currently reading The Wild Trees by Richard Preston, so that will go with me, but I need another one to take along as well. Luckily, I have a few to choose from.

Read any good books lately?

*I made it to double digits for 365!*

My "To Read" shelf, and its environs...

on packfilm. I bought this old Polaroid Colorpack II camera literally years ago, and it's been collecting dust on my bookshelf ever since. Quite excited to start shooting with it.

This is the first shot. Bit blurry, still need to familiarize myself with how far an actual meter is. lol

Cat Lenander built this books shelf in her sophomore year of high school in a wood shop class. The bookshelf is made of birch wood and finished. It holds her manga collection, along with her video games.

One of my bookshelves. Which books are on yours?

My parents moved their "library" downstairs, where there is more room and actual sunlight. Right now there are still a few gaps, but those will close with time, I'm sure.

it's getting crowded

filled with magazines, books, scrapbooks, fabric, photos, my kiwi bird, journals, my new zealand travel mag, scrap binders..

Quite a few "to be read later" items.
