Our dear Stella was diagnosed on 6 September 2021 with inoperable bone cancer. The large bulge on her right shoulder is a tumor. As shown in this photo taken on 1 October, she was not in severe pain for several weeks and still loved to go out, run around and generally enjoy life. Her initial lack of pain was due to a remarkable new pain medication.* However, as you can see, she already did not like to put much weight on her right front foot.
But finally, starting in mid October, she only wanted to stay home and be cuddled on the couchm, and down briefly to eat her food. By 28 October, it was clear that she was in constant pain and no longer enjoying life much at all. We took her to the same vets who had always taken care of her. They put her very, very gently to sleep.
We met Stella when she was 3 weeks old, and she came to live with us at 11 weeks; as soon as she was weaned. We treasure every moment of her 13 years and 5 months. She brought much joy into our lives, and we tried hard to make sure that vice-versa was true too.

* FOR DOG & CAT OWNERS:
If you have not yet heard, there is a remarkable new pain medicine for dogs and cats. It is given as a single shot every 4 weeks. Side effects are minimal. It is a monoclonal antibody (bedinvetmab - trade name Librela).

Bart lost his left front leg to bone cancer 3 years ago but it hasn't slowed him down one bit. He's such an inspiration!
This image shows an osteosarcoma cell with DNA in blue, energy factories (mitochondria) in yellow and actin filaments, part of the cellular skeleton, in purple. One of the few cancers that originate in the bones, osteosarcoma is extremely rare, with less than a thousand new cases diagnosed each year in the United States.

The global concern about victims of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant implosion leaves a big question unanswered: Do Americans have to worry about radioactive fallout from Japan?

one of my close girl friends confirmed that she has a rare kind of bone cancer. She's been asking for help since February but no one listened until about four weeks ago, and then only because they thought it was lung cancer. It's not. It's in her hip and they suspect in her knees also. She has had test upon test and is now waiting for a specialist operation to do bone biopsies to determine more about the disease.
I don't know what to do, what is there I can do? Nothing. I am the conduit between her and our circle of friends who are spread across the country. She gets me to tell the other girls because I am the cancer t-shirt wearing girl amongst us. It's tough. I am going through a bunch of tests myself and haven't told my friends because how can I when they're already falling apart over our lovely friend with this rubbish partial diagnosis. So I'm telling you, and that's probably not fair of me, either.
But I do ask for your prayers for my lovely friend, that she gets a complete diagnosis and a treatment plan to help her. It doesn't matter what religion you are. It doesn't matter if you're agnositic or atheist. I just would ask that if you look at this shot and read these words, please say a prayer or send some love towards my friend because she needs all the help she can get at the moment.

Mr. Vinny is one of super brave new friends. His story is amazing, for two years he grew his hair long to give to Wigs for kids. He had his hair cut and two weeks later was diagnosed with a form of childhood bone cancer. We love his spirit and amazing heart! He is our Bee Brave Buddy, Super hero! www.beebravebuddies.com

May 7th, 11th, 12 and 14th Sara went tango dancing. The treatment initially produced great pain . . . and the only tangos were slow ones on the carpet. But once the initial adjustment is over, she wants only to get tango-ing again.
